Munchkins, Flags, Flesh Eating Bacteria, Road Rash and Memorial Day.

Yesterday I was getting ready for Memorial Day weekend.

These little munchkins stole my flag.

These little munchkins have had a rough week.

Bobby has had a rough week with his allergies and I kept him home from school on Monday because he was miserable. On Tuesday he woke up with poison ivy covering the better half of the left side of his body. I had him pulling weeds in the backyard over the weekend.

Now I feel bad.

I didn’t know I had poison ivy in the backyard.

I am assuming it is poison ivy because that is what the school nurse said it probably was.

Probably. She said probably. I sure hope she’s right and it’s not some flesh eating bacteria. That would suck because we are going into a holiday weekend and the doctor won’t be back in until Tuesday.

By Tuesday all his flesh will be gone.

Maybe I should call the doctor today.

Gracie wiped out riding her scooter on Sunday when we were walking the dogs.

She was wearing flip flops while riding her scooter and one fell off.

It was a nasty wipe out.

She had be carried home, which was a little more than a mile.

She cried the whole way home.

She cried for 2 days after that too, until the road rash scabbed over.

I felt bad for not realizing she had flip flops on.

She has promised that she will never wear flip flops again while riding her scooter.

Good choice.

So if I can fit my kids back together again we are going to enjoy this nice long holiday weekend doing various activities that honor those who have served our country and sacrificed their lives for our freedom, and hopefully regroup for next week’s adventures.

How about you? What are your plans for Memorial Day?

My plans are to survive the invasion of my in-laws tomorrow — all by myself since someone HAS to go to SAR training tomorrow morning and won’t tell his family no. I hear that he and Kuster are in a parade early Monday morning and I’m getting up early to see that spectacle! The rest of the weekend I just think I’m going to hope nobody knows me! lol

Wow, that is a tough week the kids have had – lucky they’ve got their great Mum to give them cuddles and put them back together again :)

Looks like they like a bit of Mischief as well? :)

Have a fun weekend :) I think we’re going to have a quiet one as it’s been a bit busy here lately – though today I’m off for a Therapy visit, which I’m really looking forward to and afterwards a play date with a new Doggie I haven’t met before!! Woohoo!!

And who knows, I might also fit in some Mischief this weekend….. Tee Hee

We are not going anywhere special – just to a few parks, get some hiking in. It’s supposed to cool down to 82 tomorrow! (We live in Arizona, so 82 is a relief from the 104 temps we’ve been having.)

I think your kids will be alright – just think, they are accumulating great stories to laugh about later! :)

Aw :( I hope they are both feeling better! We are going to visit friends on Sunday that just got a brand new chocolate lab puppy. Their daughter has wanted a dog for several years (she is 7) and now she is having a fit saying that she doesn’t want a dog because “it’s going to die someday and she can’t live with that”. She has threatened to run away if they keep the puppy. See. . .things could be worse!!! Enjoy your long holiday weekend!!! I hope to have some adorable puppy pictures on Monday :)

And your daughter is all beat up…actually my 26 year old daughter wiped out roller blading this week and she is pretty miserable too! She didn’t get to stay home from work though! :)

LOL, I had a totally different story planned to go with this post, but every time I looked at the pictures of the kids all I saw was Bobby’s arm covered with poison ivy and the road rash on Gracie’s legs! I tried to photoshop it out, but it wasn’t working very well!

Ouch! Flip flops and a scooter accident? That’s gotta hurt! And I thought flip flops and dog-walking were a bad mix!

    Hey Leroy, Jet here.

Dude, your human sibs have had a rough one, huh? Be careful if you lick Bobby’s poison ivy… you would look a bit funny trying to scratch your tongue! Grace on the other hand could use a lot of nursing from you I bet…

Hope by now everyone is feeling better and all will enjoy hot dogs (all natural is Mom’s preference … turkey from applegate farms in particular) and hamburgers for the holiday.

We honor those who have served our country as well.
