Sizzle, Sizzle………..

I don’t have much to report for this installment of Monday Mischief.

The sizzling temperatures has kept the boys mostly confined to the comforts of the AC.

They can mostly be found keeping cool on the tile floor in the basement.

Or sucking up as much cool air as they can from the vents, leaving not much for the rest of us.

They are looking a little rough around the edges because it has been too hot to get them up on the grooming table and they are missing out on their nightly walks because the evening temps have not brought much relief at all.

We do have our evening playtime sessions, inside of course.

And I even made them some cute little ice cubes shaped like dog bones and paw prints from candy molds.

Fill the candy molds up with water and freeze.

They didn’t last very long and the boys didn’t seem overly impressed.

But……..they were cute and that’s what really matters.

The temps are suppose to get back to normal this week so I am hoping that we will be able to back to our normal routine.

Love the picture on the vent he’s looking desperate. Lexie lays and pouts with her head down between front legs and rolls her eyes up to me. I know you’ve seen that look. Hope we are back to cooler temps and walks!!

Leroy and I were able to get out for a walk tonight! It was so nice! It was a little too hot for Sherman to go though. Leroy tolerates the heat better than Sherman.

We have been way too warm too but the heat finally broke a bit on the weekend – I learned to sleep right on top of an a/c vent – it may freeze my internal organs but it sure feels good! Stay cool! Emma :)

Can so relate to the heat wave. We finally had a break on Saturday. Oh was it lovely!
My dogs and everyone else’s dogs were wired and running around like crazy at the dog park that morning. I hope you all get out soon. It’s sad to think we are stuck inside all winter and now have to face being inside during the summer. Hang in there Sherman and Leroy!

Much the same here, we have been cooking too. At least last night the temps were not too bad and we all had a decent walk. We are all hoping for some more relief from the sizzling heat.

The boys still look gorgeous to us.

I hope you get some relief from the heat too! Bring on the snow!

It’s been hotter than heck here too! Sherman and Leroy definitely had the right idea. I think your ice cubes were so cute! Fred and Gloria have been going through lots of ice cubes but I’m sorry to say they are the boring square ones! LOL!

    Hey Guys,

I’m digging those ice cubes, I just get regular, boring ones here!! Doh!! :)

We’re lucky, cos even if it gets over 100F in the day we don’t get the humidity and it’s cool in the mornings and evenings, phew!

I guess the plus side for Leroy and Sherman is no grooming – Tee Hee

    Wags to all,

    Your pal Snoopy :)

The mold is a candy mold that I bought from a local store. It’s for making chocolate but you can use for a lot of other things too!

    Hi Y’all,

If my Human had a bigger house we’d invite y’all to swelter in the mountains where sweltering is 80′s, normal is 70′s.

    Y’all come by now,

Yeah, Saturday was really miserable here. We were so glad for a break on Sunday! I’d almost forgotten what it was like to be outside without feeling like I would turn to ash.

I feel their pain! It got up to 104* yesterday, supposed to be 106* today.

I saw those dog bone ice cubes on fb, they’re so cute! Doubt my dogs would be all that impressed either. I put regular ice cubes in their water sometimes and they don’t even seem to notice them.

Oh dear – with those thick fur coats I can’t blame them for hijacking the vents! We had a little break in the weather last Wednesday, but we have heat warnings again and will probably continue on this path for many weeks. Stay chilly dogs and humans! Those ice cubes are so stinkin cute I do believe they probably provide extra coolness than regular ice cubes!

I love how they think the air is just for them! The other day I was wondering why it felt so stuffy in the kitchen and then I noticed that it was because all the vents were covered bit dogs!

Those bone shaped ice cubes are way too cute. I just found out that Apache loves ice. I’m going to try and get some of those candy molds and make a bowl of bone shaped ice cubes before Apache starts guide dog college. I hope it cools down out there for you guys.

    Happy Monday!
