Monday Mischief. Back to School Fashion Show!

This weekend I had a girls weekend with Gracie. Bobby was up in Michigan with his cousins at a skate park. It was the perfect time for me and Gracie to do some girly things together.

Our weekend consisted of shopping at the mall, getting our hair done, getting our nails done, going out to lunch and dinner and holding our very own fashion show.

The fashion show was all Gracie’s idea. She wanted to make sure that all her new back to school clothes fit her, and coordinated with her new Angry Birds backpack.

The fashion show took place in our backyard and the runway was the new cement walkway that my husband laid out earlier in the summer. I was chosen to be the fashion show photographer.

Since this was Gracie’s fashion show she was calling the shots, and she decided that she wanted the dogs to walk the runway with her.

Fine by me.

So without further ado, here is Gracie’s Back to School Fashion Show featuring Gracie, Leroy, Sherman and even Plunger!

Here we have Gracie modeling a very cute dog dress from Old Navy paired with black patent flats. Leroy is modeling a lovely chocolate brown fur coat, that in the right light looks like brown velvet.

Leroy wasn’t very enthused about walking the runway. He is very easily distracted and it wasn’t long before Gracie lost control of the situation and chaos broke out on the runway.

Due to his uncooperative behavior Leroy was asked to exit the runway, and has since been banned from all future fashion shows at this establishment.

Sherman was then asked to step in and takeover the runway.

Here we have Gracie wearing a very adorable 2 piece lime green shirt with white tank top and sparkle jeans paired with black studded boots.  Sherman is wearing a thick, Swiss chocolate, brown luxurious fur.

I have to draw attention to the black boots. The black boots were among 4 pair of shoes that Gracie got that day. What can I say? I found it very difficult to say no to her and these boots were to die for.

Since Sherman did such a fabulous job on the runway with his first appearance he was asked to walk the runway again.

This time we have Sherman sporting the same outfit as before since it was such a hit with the crowd. Gracie is wearing the cutest navy blue rain coat I have ever seen.

Then we had an unexpected model enter onto the runway.

Here we have Gracie modeling a black and navy plaid skirt and shirt and joining her is Plunger who is sporting a short, brown, white and black fur.

By this time we were already about 2 hours into a very long fashion show, but Gracie was really starting to work the runway.

So last up we Gracie taking a solo walk down the runway modeling a pink conservative dress accented with a brown and pink rhinestone puppy purse.

What can I say? Every girl needs to start the second grade with some sort of bling!

I’m going to spare you the other 150 photos I took of the fashion show. We had a few deleted scenes due to dog and wardrobe malfunctions, a few wipe outs, and one meltdown, right before Leroy was asked to leave the premises he slobbered on the new backpack.

Nice little fashion show you guys had with Gracie. Leroy, you look humongous in that second picture next to Gracie! I’m glad you all had such a fun weekend. I remember when my sister used to do the same with our family dog, but the dog was the one wearing all the fashion accessories.

Aww, that’s cute! The kids in the UK have to wear a uniform to school, but I think the fashion show is a great idea. I LOVE the sparkly jeans! Gracie is ONE LUCKY girl! Love the brown velvet coat and the pics where Leroy loses it! Well, there’s always one Naomi Campbell isn’t there!

I wish they had to wear uniforms, it would make mornings a lot less crazy!

Roooo I love the fashion show! I think my (adult!) human is secretly jealous of the dog print dress and the puppy handbag. Don’t forget to print off these photos and store them somewhere safe – you’ll love to look back at them with Gracie when she’s all grown up *waggy tail*

Isn’t that purse adorable! If it had more room in it I would use it myself!
I have all pictures copied and stored, gotta have those to show the grandkids!

I am collapsed in a fit of giggles! Gracie certainly has a fantastic eye for fashion. My gosh, I want a pair of those boots! I’m glad three of the four models were cooperative and I hope Leroy was suitably chastised for his bad behavior on the runway.

I love those boots, I looked and even though my feet are small, they didn’t have any that would fit me!

Leroy was out in the corner with a dunce hat on:)

Great fashion show! Sherman was definitely the one to accompany Gracie down the runway. Gracie did an awesome job on the catwalk! I just love all her new outfits and accessories, but the raincoat and the doggie purse are my favorites! :)

    August 20, 2012 at 9:30 am
    • Jen says:

    Hi Y’all!

Just hoppin’ by to say “hi”.

What a beautiful model! even if her escorts were not 100% perfectly behaved. My Human chuckled a couple of times, especially at the fiasco with Leroy…I put a paw over my eyes…not finding it funny at all…more embarrassed for Leroy.

    Y’all come by now,
    Hawk aka BrownDog

    August 20, 2012 at 10:02 am
    • Jen says:

Ha-ha! Thanks Hawk! Leroy is such a card, I think he acted up because he isn’t a fan of fashion:)

  • Flea says:

OMG. Poor Leroy. Fashion shows just aren’t his thing. huh? LOVE the boots. And the puppy purse! And the Angry Birds backpack! But your newfies must outweigh your daughter by a million pounds, huh? TOO. CUTE.

    August 20, 2012 at 10:04 am
    • Jen says:

LOL, they outweigh her by a about 90lbs:) She was one brave girl to let them walk her down the runway!

LOL, thank you-Gracie and I had a blast and the outfits that the boys were wearing were part of a limited edition line, I’m not sure if we will ever see them sold at stores:)

    • Jen says:

Thanks! She wants to wear that coat the first of school, but it’s suppose to be 80 degrees, so I don’t that will happen:)

Dog slobbers can be a totally great fashion statement among second graders, don’t you think. I love the clothes and the little America’s Next Top Model did a great job.

Wow, she is a cutie and her helpers on the runway are pretty easy on the eyes too. We wonder how much learning will go on in Gracie’s class as all the girls watch her with envy and the boys ogle her cuteness:)

We were shopping at Old Navy and Gracie a dress with a kitty on it, she asked if she could get it and I was like, um….I don’t know. Than a lady who was stocking the shelves, brought over this puppy dress, and I was like you can have this one!

Hahahaha! You have some awesome kids, there. One starts a guinea pig blog and the other produces a dog themed fashion show. You know how to raise them well.

That is one fabulous rain coat, by the way. Gracie is quite the trend-setter.

Gracie’s shoe issue comes from me, its an inherited trait! You know you are fueling the fire for the future….by 6th grade you are in sooooo much trouble! Thank goodness she does not have the knots in the socks issue!!!

    • Jen says:

I know, she got her shoe addiction from her aunt, maybe her aunt should buy her some shoes:)
And don’t even go there with the knots in the socks, we had that issue last year! It was just a small one and nothing like me when I was her age!
