Help Leroy Help Dogs
Two years ago you never would of seen my dogs in any sort of costumes. It just wasn’t something I did.
Not that I dislike it, I just never really thought about it.
Then last year Leroy and I attended our first ever dog event that just so happened to be a Halloween themed event.
I didn’t put much thought into his costume.
I called it like I saw it and he went as the demons spawn.
We didn’t win any costume contests but we had fun.
Fast forward to this year.
This year I had to put a little more thought into his costume because this year we were entering a contest. Not just any old contest, a contest where a lot of cash was on the line.
Cash for dogs not for me.
Cash for dogs that need it.
It’s the PetsAdviser Halloween Costume where the grand prize winner gets $1,000 donated to their favorite nonprofit rescue/shelter organization.
This contest is the whole reason that Leroy endured this:
And this is where we need your help.
We need your vote.
Now, let me explain.
Voting contests are not contests in which I normally like to participate in because it is just really hard work. Not that I’m not a hard worker but it’s very hard to get out there and solicit votes, but this contest is just a bit different in that the pet with the most votes is not necessarily the winner of the contest.
The top 25 vote getters are the ones eligible for the grand prize and then the judges pick the winners from there.
Here is the criteria that the judges will use:
Creativity & Originality — 60%
Number of Facebook Votes — 20%
Overall Charm and Appeal — 10%
Composition — 10%
So all we need to do is maintain our spot in the top 25, which so far we have been doing. Leroy’s been hanging strong in the top 5 but things change everyday. Like yesterday, an adorable little ferret came from out of nowhere and passed Leroy by! I have no idea where he came from and he sure is cute but this is what happens in a voting contest. So we need all the help we can to maintain our spot in the top 25. I’m not looking to be the one with the most votes, just eligible for the grand prize!

I’ll put another post up next week again, the day before the contest ends if it appears that Leroy is from voter neglect:)
