Monday Mischief. The Sucker Look.

DSC_02601

Sherman has this look that he gets on his face when he really wants something.

I call it the sucker look.

He flashes his big brown puppy dog eyes and looks all sad and pathetic.

It’s the look that he knows he can give me and I melt and give him whatever he wants.

Take Saturday for instance when we were outside hanging out in the snow.

DSC_02521

He brought me his favorite toy and laid it at my feet and wanted me to throw it for him.

He knows that he is not suppose to be chasing anything right now with his knee., but still he pulled out the sucker look card.

DSC_02081

He flashed his big brown puppy dog eyes and looked all sad and pathetic.

I tried my best to stand my ground and look away from the sucker look he was giving me,  but he was very persistent, and he knew that eventually I would fall for it.

DSC_02631

So I threw it, not far and not high, but just enough to make him happy, and he was.

I’m such a sucker for that look.

How about you? Does your dog have a look that you’re a sucker for too?

Oh yeah, all six of ours have it. BOL! I’d say the best one is Zappa, he can give me that sappy, droopy eye look that makes me cave. And Chance has my husband right where he wants him, he gets anything when Daddy’s around.

Think the dogs take a class to learn how to bowl us humans over or they just do it naturally? BOL!

We are pretty sure that no one, and I mean no one could resist your sucker look. Incidentally big pug eyes are also totally designed for the sucker look and add to it a slightly pathetic puggie whimper and you have a slave

Oh yes. I know the sucker look very well. All three of my dogs have it, but the one I find hardest to resist is Daisy. She has it down to a “T” and saying “no” is not an option. Maybe it’s the brown, droopy eyes? They sure work on me. :)

Not only do we get that look with our bloodhound, we usually get a slide of slobber to go with it. We try to stay strong and not give in but it usually doesn’t work.

Ah, that truly is an irresistible face! I think by throwing that toy, just far enough away, probably did him more good than not. Remember, all rest and no play sure make for a boring life! LOL Thanks for hosting!

I’ve never had a dog that didn’t know how to give that look. I think it has to be in dog genes. People can try, but they are never able to master the look.

Felix is an old pro at the *look*. Whatever it is he wants, he’ll probably get. I’m powerless. Simply powerless. I doubt I could say no to that Sherman face either. He’s pretty darn sweet.

The way I see it, the sucker face is just the regular look on the faces of Moses and Alma. Especially Alma when she’s getting excited or chasing the cat, and stops and looks at you like “You know I’m hilarious.”
