Monday Mischief. The Sucker Look.
Sherman has this look that he gets on his face when he really wants something.
I call it the sucker look.
He flashes his big brown puppy dog eyes and looks all sad and pathetic.
It’s the look that he knows he can give me and I melt and give him whatever he wants.
Take Saturday for instance when we were outside hanging out in the snow.
He brought me his favorite toy and laid it at my feet and wanted me to throw it for him.
He knows that he is not suppose to be chasing anything right now with his knee., but still he pulled out the sucker look card.
He flashed his big brown puppy dog eyes and looked all sad and pathetic.
I tried my best to stand my ground and look away from the sucker look he was giving me, but he was very persistent, and he knew that eventually I would fall for it.
So I threw it, not far and not high, but just enough to make him happy, and he was.
I’m such a sucker for that look.
How about you? Does your dog have a look that you’re a sucker for too?

February 4, 2013 at 1:16 am (135 days ago)Oh yeah, all six of ours have it. BOL! I’d say the best one is Zappa, he can give me that sappy, droopy eye look that makes me cave. And Chance has my husband right where he wants him, he gets anything when Daddy’s around.
Think the dogs take a class to learn how to bowl us humans over or they just do it naturally? BOL!

February 4, 2013 at 6:18 am (135 days ago)We are pretty sure that no one, and I mean no one could resist your sucker look. Incidentally big pug eyes are also totally designed for the sucker look and add to it a slightly pathetic puggie whimper and you have a slave

February 4, 2013 at 7:20 am (135 days ago)Oh yes. I know the sucker look very well. All three of my dogs have it, but the one I find hardest to resist is Daisy. She has it down to a “T” and saying “no” is not an option. Maybe it’s the brown, droopy eyes? They sure work on me.

February 4, 2013 at 7:37 am (135 days ago)Awww what a sweetie! How could you resist? Ohhhh yesssss Dakota has a “look” that totally melts me. It is when he wants something and he is acting up and then decides to “sit like a gentleman”….he will sit so pretty and will have the sweetest look, it works EVERY time!

February 4, 2013 at 8:34 am (134 days ago)Not only do we get that look with our bloodhound, we usually get a slide of slobber to go with it. We try to stay strong and not give in but it usually doesn’t work.

February 4, 2013 at 10:23 am (134 days ago)Ah, that truly is an irresistible face! I think by throwing that toy, just far enough away, probably did him more good than not. Remember, all rest and no play sure make for a boring life! LOL Thanks for hosting!

February 4, 2013 at 10:49 am (134 days ago)I’ve never had a dog that didn’t know how to give that look. I think it has to be in dog genes. People can try, but they are never able to master the look.

February 4, 2013 at 11:14 am (134 days ago)I’m just happy they look at me. LOL

Kolchak, Felix & Jodi
February 4, 2013 at 4:25 pm (134 days ago)Felix is an old pro at the *look*. Whatever it is he wants, he’ll probably get. I’m powerless. Simply powerless. I doubt I could say no to that Sherman face either. He’s pretty darn sweet.

February 17, 2013 at 3:52 pm (121 days ago)The way I see it, the sucker face is just the regular look on the faces of Moses and Alma. Especially Alma when she’s getting excited or chasing the cat, and stops and looks at you like “You know I’m hilarious.”
