Yesterday we said good-bye to Plunger and helped him cross over the Rainbow Bridge.
Plunger was 15 and he had been struggling with some health issues for the last few months and the time had come to let him be at peace.
Instead of going into a big long story that makes me cry I thought I would share some of my favorite pictures of Plunger.
He was a little dog compared to Sherman and Leroy but he could certainly hold his own and out run them any day of the week.
He had no fear of their size and had no problem telling them to back off.
Plunger knew the Newfs were gentle giants and would never harm him and he took full advantage of that.
A few times he may of been afraid of being suffocated by one of them, but he always found a magical way out.
Plunger is the first dog that we have lost together as a family. I have lost dogs in my past but this is a first for my husband, the kids and the dogs and my heart hurts for them.
The kids are dealing with it as best as they can.
I made clay pawprints for each of them to keep in remembrance of Plunger and today we will plant some wildflowers in the garden as a memorial and last night we went out for ice cream, courtesy of Plunger.
Sherman and Leroy are dealing with the loss too and have been looking for Plunger every since I left with him yesterday morning. Last night Sherman looked in every room for Plunger and cried, and this morning he went outside and was howling.
Time will heal all wounds and today we will all share in some extra hugs.

So sorry for your loss. It's such a tough thing. The pictures show how much the Newfies will miss their little pal as well.

I'm so sorry, Jen. My thoughts are with you and your family. It's so hard to let them go and to say goodbye. 15 years is just such a miracle and I hope we have that much time with our dogs. Big hugs to you and yours.

So very sorry for your loss. I love all the special things you're doing, though, in his memory. Precious.
It's so hard, isn't it, losing a family member after so many years. My sister said good bye to her 16 year old kitty the day after Plunger left. Time heals all wounds, yes, but it doesn't seem to plug the holes.

How sad to have to let go of a family member. Just part of life and the years we have with our dogs are few but wonderful. Poor Sherman and Leroy. While the humans understand, they are still looking for their little pal.
