The other day I was bored so I decided to attempt to take some selfie pictures of the dogs and I.

I mean selfies are all the rage right now so I better jump on that bus before I miss it like I tend to miss every other bus that goes by. (and just for the record, I’m not all that comfortable with the word “selfies”. I just don’t like the sound of it but I’ll go with it until I or you, think of a better name.)

As I attempted my selfies I quickly realized that a person with short arms and large dogs may not have a  good success rate at taking pictures this way.

My attempts with Sherman went slightly better than with Leroy but as you can see Sherman’s was napping and his big head blocked mine in the first picture, but we made adjustments. I mean I made adjustments. Sherman kept on napping.

Let’s switch sides
And seal it with a slobbery Newfie kiss and a very bad pucker lips face by me

Of course Leroy wasn’t that easy.

Wait for it………………………………..

Wait for it………………………………..

And go

Lose the eyes Leroy. It’s not like I’m a stranger.
Seriously. Is he looking for help?
Leroy, you are laying on my foot!
Then Leroy decided to get up while I was trying to take the picture and I screamed and rolled off of him and scraped my knee.
Then I held him against his will and we were both not happy about it.

  2. I’m telling you Jen – this is why Leroy randomly tackles you. He builds up the consternation from your shenanigans, then hits you when you least expect it. Lol – I’m in love with these pictures!

  3. Oh. My. Goodness. I burst out laughing at that very first picture of Leroy! His eyes were hysterical! And then the pictures just got better and better! (Sherman seemed a bit more cooperative than Leroy, as usual!). Plus, your captions were hysterical! Thanks for the laugh! :)

(Actually, when I burst out laughing my niece, Bailey, started laughing too–she didn’t have a fat clue what she was laughing about but was just laughing because I was. So you actually made two of us here laugh this morning!). 😉

  4. BOL! Makes you wonder what he’s thinking in 4, 5, and 6! Is he thinking you’re photo-bombing his usual photo shoots, or maybe he’s thinking that he doesn’t do cute when you are nothing but cute? It would make life SO much easier if those crazy pet-speak-apps actually worked for real.

  5. LMAO……… someone who has literally “been there, done that,” I feel I can laugh because, after all, I’m truly laughing WITH you and not at you……….. I have some very similar shots with Zeus… Oy Vey. My foster puppy selfies have been better, but of course, they’re dogs that you can PICK UP and hold after all……… so even if they refuse to look AT the camera, it’s usually still half way decent. My dogs on the other hand…………

  6. Too funny! That first photo of Sherman next to you really puts into perspective the size of his head! He’s like a grizzly bear. (A cute grizzle bear though!)

Wonder what was up with Leroy? Silly boy. It’s just a camera.

I admittedly have not heard of these “Selfies” at all….

  7. OMD, those are so funny.

I agree – selfies is just not a good term. I know it’s *the* term, but still… it really sounds like something that ought to be done, um, alone. While we were on vaca last week, this girl was taking her own pic at sunset. My hubs said, “Aw, that poor girl – she’s all alone. Why don’t you go offer to take her pic for her.” I said, “Cuz she doesn’t *want* me to take her pic. She wants to post her “selfie in Maui!” on Facebook!” Sure enough, a minute later her boyfriend walked up – so if she’d really wanted someone else to take it, she would have asked him!

  8. Thanks for the laughs, those were hysterical! It reminds me of the silly photos we used to do in the photo booths with a bunch of us when I was in high school.
I’ve been thinking about selfies lately (I like the new name you came up with in your next post better), and thinking that I needed to get on that bus before I missed it too.
    Now I’m scared…..LOL

  9. Oh lord Jen!! I don’t care for the name “selfies” either. It sounds like something you should be doing in private. 😉

Yes, having short arms and big dogs could cause a problem, I may have to attempt this one at home. Who knows, it could make for some great blackmail fodder. :-)
