What A Stupid Week

This has just been a stupid week and by stupid I mean stupid things just happened and I blame the holidays.

Every year around this time I go into a complete freak out mode and stupid things just start happening because my mind is once again, a pile of mush.

I blame myself because I’m not organized and I have no holiday system.

I hardly accomplished anything this week because it seemed like every time I sat down to do something I would have to get up and do something else.

Jen_dogs 68

And Leroy ate a gingerbread man that fell off the tree. It was hung in the safe zone but apparently it wasn’t hung with care and it fell about 7 feet to the floor where Leroy ate it. In Leroy’s defense, it looked and smelled a lot like the gingerbread treats that I have been giving to him, but I was bummed because it was an ornament that Gracie made when she was in 1st grade.

My car also ran out of gas for the time ever this week. While I was driving it.

Stupid story:

I drove to the gas station that is less than 500 feet from my house to get a candy bar and totally ignored that my gas light was on.

I ran out of gas 100 feet before my house. I tried to coast into the driveway but I was only able to get my car about 1/4 of the way in. I had to wake my husband up, who was already in bed, to push my car all the way in the driveway.

He was less than happy with me.

I don’t have a favorite picture that I took this week because I didn’t take any! Just add that to the stupid list!

In good news, my first article was published over at the totally awesome Pets Adviser site! It’s called  Hey Kids, Want to Meet My Big Dogs? Here Are 7 Rules.

I’m super excited to be contributing to such a wonderful and fun site that is all about pets! My next article will be coming up later this month!

On the blog I talked about my failed attempt to mimic my cartoon character.

We discussed winter paws and how to protect them.

I got our very first box full of doggie fun from Happy Dog Box.

This weekend  I’m going to try and make some homemade paw balm and Gracie is helping. Every year we make a holiday craft together and this year its the paw balm. It was a little difficult to explain to Gracie how cool this was going to be ;)

On Sunday we have plans to take Sherman and Leroy to go see Santa. I’m not a fan of this because I get really nervous but all the proceeds of this picture goes to MuttleyCrue, which is a pit bull rescue created by one of my good friends………and I hear that this Santa brings a sleigh!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Maybe the boys can get a job pulling Santa’s sleigh? We couldn’t wait to read this post after reading the title in our email, we knew it would be good! Some weeks are just like that and ours was a weird one as well. Mom came within about an inch of an accident last night because she couldn’t stop on the ice…stuff happens, it is just life, like it or not. She came home a shaken up mess and we furs had to calm her down. Have a pawsome weekend!

Oh no! I’m so glad that there wasn’t an accident! That ice is so dangerous! We are suppose to get some freezing rain tonight, I’d rather have snow!

Sorry I laughed at a couple of your stories. I bet you were bummed about the gingerbread man but I laughed out loud as that is such a classic and priceless moment. Sorry about running out of gas but that would be something that would happen to me. Congrats on your article being published. kudos to you

Your week was most entertaining to the rest of us, so go ahead and have “stupid weeks.” Most of us have run out of gas or had our dogs eat the wrong things. Congratulations on having your article published.

Oh, that looks like one of Ma’s attempts at gettin’ Me to do what she wants me to do and Me just barkin’ out loud at her!! Ah, and the ear….Mine does the same thingie…butts it ALWAYS does that, so mine isn’t so weird….
Your gas story made Ma laugh, so somethin’ she would do…get all distracted by the yummy chocolate and forgets WHY she went there in the furst place!!

Stupid? Naw, not at all. :) Interesting, blond moments when you run out of gas but at least you were close to home! Sorry about the gingerbread man :(. I have many treasures from when Alex was little. Thankfully none that are delicious smelling to dogs. Keep on keeping on! Christmas is only once a year!

Oh NO!!-about the gas story! That must have been the most awkward “husband wake-up reason” ever.. It must be going around.. I had a similar week. I had the worst case of bronchitis, tripped and fell down/twisted my ankle in the school parking lot (between cars so luckily no one saw), missed the last step of our staircase one day, Buster accidentally tore his dew claw at the dog park, leading to surgery to remove them both, and one night in the middle of my own pity party I just wanted a root beer, the kind from sonic with the pebbly ice, and you can prob see this coming by now, accidentally dropped and spilled it as soon as I walked in the door with it. I may or may not have burst into tears at that point. Here’s to a better week next week, and hope the Santa visit goes off without a hitch!! I also hope I didn’t just jinx you b/c that is the kind of luck I’ve been having. ;) Can’t wait to read about the paw balm. :)

Oh no Kelli! I’m sorry you had such a horrible week! I hope you are feeling better and that you got another root beer! I would of had tears in my eyes too! Actually…I did cry once when I tripped over Sherman while carrying a very large bowl of ice cream :(

Congrats on your article….I’m glad that at least something went right for you this week! I enjoyed your post about keeping paws safe in the winter….our golden Sheba gets those snowballs too, so I try to do better at keeping her paws trimmed now. I can’t wait to hear how your homemade paw balm comes out, I’d love to try that too. I’ve also read that using a blow dryer on just a warm setting can help thaw out the snowballs too.

I apologize for laughing over your situation, but I admit that I did! I have come close to doing the same thing. A few weeks ago, hubby ran up to the gas station a couple of blocks from our house to get me gas and had to have someone push him into the station. I’m so glad it wasn’t me!

Poor gingerbread man! Those gingerbread ornaments do smell really good–I made some when I was a kid and still remember being disappointed that I couldn’t eat them.

Now I have to make gingersnaps tomorrow. Thanks a lot.

I’m happy to say that so far the holidays have been uneventful. Wait, we adopted 2 puppies. But that’s it. We don’t have a tree, we do have a reef at the front door (thank heavens for in laws who love Christmas).

I’ve never run out of gas, but I have broken down on a 3 lane overpass at the beginning of rush hour on a Friday. I made the news!

I saw the demise of Gracie’s gingerbread man on Facebook. What I bummer but I guess it is a good reminder that it’s just stuff. The memory of her bringing it home, and the funny story of Leroy eating it, will last a lifetime :)

Sorry your week was pretty crappy, and that sucks about the ornament and the gas.
