Vacuum cleaners are a necessity in this house year round.

I have dogs. I have kids. I have messes.

I have a lot of messes.

Which is why I need a vacuum cleaner that I can depend on and trust with my little, and sometimes, very big messes.

Not any old vacuum cleaner will do in this house.

I need a vacuum cleaner that has awesome suction power to get all that dog hair, dog dander, spilled potato chips and cereal bits that have been dropped on the carpet and stepped on a dozen times.

Which is why I was super excited to try out the Eureka AirSpeed Exact Pet.

The new Eureka AirSpeed EXACT Pet is equipped with patented AirSpeed Technology that gives you a confident clean, so you can take on whatever life throws at you. #EurekaPower.

  • Unlike most other vacuums, Eureka AirSpeed EXACT Pet’s AirSpeed Technology uses an efficient floor-to-cup airpath with limited twists and turns that decreases the distance dust needs to travel and increases airflow, providing maximum suction power.
  • Based on independent testing, Eureka AirSpeed EXACT Pet cleans carpets better than the Dyson DC40.
  • Powerful enough to clean up all the messes that your pet leaves behind, the Eureka AirSpeed EXACT Pet features a PET Power Paw cleaning tool that rids upholstery and furniture of pet hair.
  • The vacuum’s suction control valve lets you direct all of the power to the floors or to the tools, so you can deep clean to stairs, furniture and crevices.
  • With a unique Smooth-Glide pivoting base, the Eureka AirSpeed EXACT Pet is easy to push across carpets – while providing a superior, deep clean.
  • Experience Eureka Power with the Eureka AirSpeed EXACT Pet, available nationwide at Walmart.

Better than my Dyson?

Well let’s put it to the test

The Test

I used the Eureka AirSpeed Exact Pet in my house for 30 days and I was quite impressed with it’s cleaning power.

Pros:

The Eureka AirSpeed Exact Pet was great at getting the Newf hair and grounded in Frosted Flakes, dare I even say,-better than my 3 year old Dyson that has been serviced once already for Newf hair impaction.

It was lightweight and easier to carry around than my Dyson.

I only have 2 rooms in my house that currently have carpet and the rest of the house is laminate floors with throw rugs and the Eureka AirSpeed worked great on all 3 types of flooring.

The Pet Power Paw worked glorious on getting the embedded Newf hair out of my furniture.

Cons:

The dust cup was smaller than my other vacuum, which means I had to dump it more often.

The cord was shorter than my current vacuum cleaner, by at least a foot, maybe more, which is good because then you spend less time rolling up the cord but at the same time it was kind of was a pain because I’m a one outlet type of girl.

All in all I was pretty impressed with the Eureka AirSpeed Exact Pet, but I’m interested to see how it’s doing 5 months from now, which is normally when vacuum cleaners start to give up around this house.

Win it!

So far the Eureka AirSpeed Exact Pet gets our approval so the kind folks at Eureka are letting us give one away to (2) lucky readers!

Contest is open to US residents only and you must be 18 years of age or older to enter. Winner will be notified via email and has 24 hours to respond or another winner will be chosen.

70 Comments on Eureka AirSpeed Exact Pet, Meet Your Biggest Challenges #EurekaPower

  1. My messiest pet is our new pup, Diamond. She loves to chew up paper and toilet paper rolls into little pieces and spreads them through the house. She has also got into the trash a few times and made a huge mess.

  2. My messiest pet would be my Lanseer, Shelby! There is not one area of the house that is unaffected by her hair or drool drippings. I am curious as to how the Eureka holds up after a few months of use!

  3. My MIL bought us a Phantom when we move into a place with rugs. When we got Bailey that sucker proved its worth. I was amazed at how much hair he produces with two of them, we could create several Shelties a year in hair sculptures. I’d love to have a vacuum for upstairs so I didn’t have to carry one upstairs and down.

  4. My 5 month old Great Dane, Indie, is starting to get pretty messy. She is starting to shed, which I didn’t think danes did that much. But it’s the little tiny white fur that you can’t just brush away. It weaves it’s way into the couch, coats and shirts. Plus, she is white, grey and black so no color shirt or jacket is safe!!!

  5. I have three dogs at home, but my messiest is definitely our most recent adopted 1 year old Chloe! She loves chewing on just about anything and tearing up boxes and paper and the like! We have nicknamed her the destructor.

  6. I am on the hunt for a good vacuum. With two labs (one of which I am surprised is not bald the way he sheds), we need something better than our current Shark vacuum. Thanks for the detailed review!!

  7. Calvin’s hair is so fine that it drifts around the house like dandelion fluff. And with the weather changing Caleb is shedding nonstop. There is no winning with my two boys. Black hair that is coarse and sticks in everything and white hair that is so fine you can’t even brush it off.

  8. When we got our puppies I bought a Miele Cat & Dog model vacuum. We love it. It’s especially good on Glory’s newfie hair! But the Miele is cumbersome while cleaning stairs, so I’m curious as to how the Eureka worked with that.

  9. My cat, Sheldon Cooper, with his billows and billows of “bunny fur” is the hardest one to stay on top of. No matter how much I vacuum, I just can never seem to pick up all of his hair!

  10. Messiest pet? That’s a tough question. I have a house full of rescues of the canine and feline type and have a human baby on the way in just 3 weeks! I’d have to say, though, probably my older pup who really loves to “kill” stuffed type toys leaving quite the mess. I’ve given her the tough stuffed toys but she loses interest quickly because she can’t get the stuffing out. Silly girl! This vacuum would come in handy as fur seems to magically appear just a day after the home has been vacuumed! Plus we have 2 levels. It would be nice to have a vacuum that stays upstairs for our largest carpeted area rather than carrying one up and down the stairs (exhausting!). And one designed specifically for pets? Yes please!

  11. Of my two chocolate labs, the three year old is probably the messiest and that’s only because he likes to roll around in the dirt and grass.

  12. Leo is my one and only messy rescue. When he’s not busy making a mess with toys, bully sticks and cows ears, he loves to roll in the grass, so he’s always bringing in leaves, twigs and blades of grass that gets stuck to his hairy feet and coat.

  13. Oh I desperately need a good vacuum. Layla (malamute), a cat and a Lionhead rabbit. Everything sheds heavy.

  14. Barley is the messiest pet I’ve ever met. She sheds like crazy and on top of that she likes to snack out of the cat’s litter box–and when she gets caught she runs onto the carpet and spits litter all over the place! A new vacuum would be a dream!

  15. Mom has always been very happy with her two dysons, but the new carpeting in the family room is too thick for the Dysons. She got a new Oreck that she loves mainly because it is so lightweight. She sort of misses being able to see the hair in the disposal container, but the carpets do get clean. She says one can never have too many vacs, so we would love to win one for her. Hard to pick a messy pup, but Ciara has the thickest coat and so sheds the most. We nominate Ciara as our messiest.

Woos – Phantom, Ciara, and Lightning

  16. Jenny Sue AKA Blind spaniel , spig spig. She sheds terribly, she likes to get mouthfuls of food and walking into the front room so the pawents see her eating it but dropping kibbles everywhere. The next one would be ma herself. She spills everything. Bags of chips, cereal , sugar , everything. We need this vacuum!

  17. Blaze is the messier of my Goldens because he’s got that undercoat that traps dirt when he gets his roll on in the backyard. Somehow the dirt doesn’t seem to come out when he shakes outside, but my current vacuum cleaner certainly find a LOT of dirt in the house!

  18. We lucked out with Vlad. He’s one of the Black Russians with a rougher, closer to terrier-type coat. He doesn’t shed much at all. However, Barkly sheds year round, and this time of year worse than any other. He got a REALLY thick coat this winter with the extreme cold we were having. I swear that you can just look at him and he’ll drop a handful.

  19. My recently adopted ACD is the worst! I bought a new vacuum that was designed for picking up pet hair and it quit working! I love my dog but I need a vacuum that can pick it all up

  20. My messiest pet is Tinkerbell, a feisty orange tabby. She knocks food and water out of her dish all day long just to play with it, and she’s quite a birder so she tracks in feathers and, uh, entrails quite often too!

  21. Porter is my 6 year old Newf/lab mix. At 160 lbs, he is a walking mess of slobber, drool, shedding fur, and whatever his tail hits as walks by. Love my big teddy bear to pieces, and would love a new vacuum to clean up after him!!

  22. I hate vacuuming – it puts me in the most fowl mood for the rest of the day, but I think that’s because I always end up using rubbish ones where you go over and over the same spot before bending down, picking up the bit of fluff and feeding it to the vacuum.

  23. With three kids, two cats and two dogs, I totally hear you about messes. I also know how difficult it is to find a vacuum that takes care of pet hair effectively. I’m looking forward to give this one a try.
