Have You Made Your 2017 BlogPaws Conference List And Checked It Twice?

This post is sponsored by the BlogPaws® Pet Influencer Network™. I am being compensated as a BlogPaws Conference Ambassador to help share information about the BlogPaws 2017 Conference but we only share information we feel is relevant to our readers. BlogPaws is not responsible for the content of this article.

At this time next week I’ll be going through the first day of the 2017 BlogPaws Conference in Myrtle Beach. I’ve made my list and now I’m checking it twice and I have to say, I’m little overwhelmed and a lot excited.

I’m not sure what your agenda looks like but mine is jammed packed with seminars, lunches, bloggers names, sponsors names and little smiley faces and exclamation marks.

While I think this might be the year that I’m most organized to attend a BlogPaws Conference I thought I’d share a few of the events  and information that might be easily missed once you get there.

The Bayer Pre-Conference. If you’re arriving on Wednesday make sure to try and attend this event to help keep families together with Bayer. Attendees of the BlogPaws 2017 Conference will partake in a life-changing program. Following a light dinner during the Wednesday, 05/17, pre-conference event, you will be able to make a difference in helping domestic violence survivors and their pets. Visit PetandWomenSafety.com website to find out more about this program.

A Hero’s Banquet (Breakfast) Featuring K9s for Warriors and an Exclusive Featurette of Megan Leavey Sponsored by Merrick Pet Care.  Breakfast begins at 8:30am and opening remarks will follow at 9:00am with a feature (approximately 3 1/2 minutes) and words from Merrick Pet Care and K9 for Warriors.  This movie hits theaters nationwide on June 9th BUT it will be at the BlogPaws 2017 Conference first! Based on the true life story of a young Marine corporal whose unique discipline and connection with her military combat dog saved many lives during their deployment in Iraq, the film exemplifies the power of the human/animal bond. Bring Kleenex!

Cat Lounge. Even if you’re not a cat blogger you should check out the cat lounge. The CWA put a lot of effort into their lounge every year and this year it’s suppose to be amazing so show them some love and support and stop in and say hello. The cat lounge is in the exhibit hall and the hours are Thursday, May 18:  10:00 a.m.  – 6:00 p.m., Friday, May 19:   8:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m., Saturday, May 20: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Sip and Paint Hosted By Red Roof . The Sip and Paint event on Thursday, May 18th from 8 – 9 PM. An instructor will help you to paint a beautiful sunset beach theme featuring a dog or cat. Your artwork will be shipped to your home for FREE. Spots are currently filled for this event but you can still attend to sip and get your coloring groove on. It will also be a great spot to network.

The Honor Flag Project. We’ve all experienced the loss of a pet  and the Honor Flag project allows you to create a memorial for the pet or pets that you’ve lost. The tradition is based on Tibetan Prayer Flags, which are hung high in the mountains. Winds pick up the flags’ good wishes and spread those wishes as far as the wind can take them. The flags are handmade,  and during that process our thoughts and feelings become attached to that flag. All materials will be available at the conference. The Honor Flag project will be set up next to the Cat Lounge in the exhibit hall.

Other areas of interest:
Zero Waster Conference. BlogPaws is proud to announce that, with the help of the Pet Sustainability Coalition, this year’s conference will be a zero-waste event once again! Their 2015 goal was to divert 60 percent of our event waste away from landfills and they achieved 78 percent! Their 2016 goal was to divert 75 percent, and they achieved 95 percent!! All of the attendees help BlogPaws recycle. The same bins will be in all event areas this year, so please help us match last year’s number! Think now how you might contribute-I’m thinking one way that I can help is to drink beer on tap instead of out of a bottle. Boom. Jen just made less waste 😉

SWAG. You’re going to get a lot of swag. You will receive a dog or cat bag of swag at the BlogPaws Conference and other goodies throughout the conference. UPS will be on site on Saturday afternoon on May 20th with a shipping service available for your swag. If you’re flying it is recommended that you take advantage of this service!

SCHED-Have you completed your BlogPaws Conference schedule yet in SCHED? This is a great tool and i recommend taking advantage of it. I completed mine yesterday and printed it off. There is a lot going on and having your schedule in hand at the conference will make things so much easier for you!

And don’t forget, I’m a 2017 BlogPaws Conference Ambassador and I’m here to help you! If you can’t locate me at the conference you can get in touch with me on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. Since I’m normally seen wearing a baseball hat in many of our pictures, that will probably be what I do for the conference so that you can spot me out of a crowd.  My conference hat is on order and I’ll post a picture of it as soon as it arrives!

Also keep in mind that BlogPaws uses the hashtag #BlogPaws before, during, and after the event.

See you guys and gals in 6 days!

I can't wait! My friend and I are actually headed out Saturday morning, to have a little vaca time before the conference. I'm mostly packed, and I printed out my sched. Just reading about the Honor Flag project brings tears to my eyes since our latest loss seems so recent (4 months ago). I want to try to do it though.

Between the Honor Flag project and the Megan Leavey movie I'm going to need a lot of tissues! Can't wait to see you Jan!

I can't wait to see you!!! We will be there on Wed. We are driving this time since our flight would have been almost as long to get there as driving. 11 hours in a car with ma and sissy should be interesting.

Love ya! Carma Poodale
