Spontaneity Is The Best Kind Of Adventure

I’ve been trying to plan my trip to Myrtle Beach for the BlogPaws Conference for the past several months.

It hasn’t been going well.

I’ve gone back and forth between flying and driving at least 100 times.

I’m not a fan of flying but I’m also not a fan of driving by myself for more than 2 hours.

I’ve been driving my husband nuts going back and forth between the 2 until last Thursday when he told me that I had to make a decision.

So I did.

On Friday I decided that I was going to suck it up and fly.

I booked my flight and was just about to hit the purchase ticket button when I thought, nope, I’m driving and I’m taking Leroy with me.

I closed out of the booking session and texted my husband:

“I’m driving and I’m taking Leroy.”

I can only imagine what went through his head but all he texted back with was, “O.K.”

So Leroy and I are hitting the road, tomorrow.

Obviously, I didn’t give myself much time to plan for this adventure for 2 so we’re kind of winging it.

I’m a whole lot excited and a tad nervous.

It’s about a 10.5 hour drive to Myrtle Beach for us. Instead of leaving on Wednesday and driving straight through like I had planned, we’ll be splitting the trip up into 2 days and leaving late Tuesday morning.

We’ll stop late Tuesday afternoon/ early evening, hopefully in Virginia, and then finish the drive to South Carolina Wednesday afternoon.

We’ll head back home Sunday.

As of right now Leroy has more bags packed than I do, so I’m sure that I’m forgetting something but I don’t know what.

I have no idea what the next week has in store for us but I’m sure that it will be an adventure to remember.

Guys,  I have so much more to say about this but I really have to get my shit together sooooooooo Roy and I will see ‘ya on the road tomorrow! Wish us luck!

I’ll be posting updates on our travels so make sure that you’re following us on Instagram and Facebook!

Oh my gosh, this is like a dream come true for me. I have been in love with Leroy since I first saw his photo. I'll probably be drooling as much as Leroy.

I wish we were going! But I just got back from a conference in Las Vegas, and I can't afford another trip. Maybe next year...

Have fun, and please take lots of pictures for those of us who can't attend!

I was sad about not being able to attend the conference this year but now that I know I am missing Leroy, well, I am devastated!

Good luck, you guys will have a blast! I know how it goes, dogs and road trips. They have more luggage than I do because I plan for every scenario and usually forget essentials for myself. My motto is "as long as they are taken care of". Have fun, can't wait to read all about it!
