Yesterday as I was feeding the boys their breakfast I looked at the line of supplements waiting to be added to their meal and then I looked at my 1 bottle of muti-vitamins sitting on the counter and chuckled.

If I took that many supplements I’d probably be feeling great right now instead of achy, tired and old.

Joint supplements, probiotics, calming medication, multi-vitamins, cranberry, Vitamin C, milk thistle, serotonin and cod liver oil are just a few of the things that you’ll find on the Lazy Susan on in the corner of my kitchen counter. Some of these things are used on an as needed basis but others are given daily.

While many dogs that eat a nutritionally balanced diet might not need a supplement, my senior giant breed boys, that have specific medical conditions, need a variety of things added to their diet to keep them moving, grooving and slobbering. My goal here is to keep them as healthy as I can without the need for medications that can be hard on their bodies.

The problem with having a variety of supplements is that they can’t all be found in one store. Two can be found here, one can be found there but they can never be found all together.

Ugh. I’m a busy lady running on one multi-vitamin, I need to condense and get as many products as I can in one place.

Does such a place exisit?

It does and that place is called  iHerb.

iHerb is one of the world’s largest online store filled with natural vitamins, supplements, health products, cleaners and much more. They carry over 1,200 brands and over 35,000 products all in one place at normally lower prices than what you’ll find in the stores.

Don’t believe me?

I put iHerb to the test to see what and how much I could get with $100.

Before I placed my order I checked my Lazy Susan to see what supplements I was running low on.

When searching over iHerb’s more than 200 pet  products for cats and dogs I decided that I would pick a few products that I’ve used in the past and few products that I’ve never used but caught my eye.

Products I’ve used before that I ordered:

Bach Flowers Rescue Remedy– I was running pretty low on this after the 4th of July so I ordered another  20ml bottle for $18.26. That’s a great deal because the store that I normally buy it from sells it for $35.

Riley’s Organic Treats-Sherman and Leroy have had these treats before and loved them but I can’t find them locally so I was happy to order them 2 bags. We got the Large Pumpkin and Coconut and the Large Peanut Butter and Molasses.

Products I’ve never used before that I ordered.

Mane n’ Tail Shampoo-I’ve never used this shampoo before but I know tons of Newfie owners that use it all the time so I wanted to give it a try. I got a 32oz bounce for $8.31. I normally pay double, if not triple that amount for an 8 ounce bottle of shampoo! I’m excited to try this before winter hits.

NaturVet Cranberry Relief-I normally use cranberry tablets but decided to switch it up a bit and go with the powder. Cranberry helps support a healthy urinary tract and since Leroy has a history of UTI’s I like to supplement him with it. This product also has Echinacea in it and is a 50mg powder and the direction say to give 2 scoops per day.

Pet Naturals Daily Probiotic Obviously with Leroy’s IBD he has to be on a probiotic and while I have one that I love, I decided to give this one a try. When I look for a probiotic I look for a product that I don’t have to 1/2 the bottle at one dose. Normally I do a powder but this comes in a chew form. There’s 160 chews in a bottle.

Thorne Research CurcuVET-SA150-When searching iHerb’s site I came across a few products by this company and I’m intrigued. This supplement is a hepatic, musculosketal and GI support supplement.  Curcumin is the orange pigment in turmeric (the primary ingredient in curry) and is an antioxidant that offers numerous health benefits including for joint health, hepatic support, gastrointestinal health, and cardiovascular function – by helping to maintain the animal’s normal cytokine balance. I like that this product focuses on three areas and will be trying it out on Sherman. 90 capsules and the dose is 1-3 capsules per 75 pounds of body weight.

EcoDiscoveries Pet Deodorizer & Stain Remover-I always have a bottle of this on hand and this one here is biodegradable, fragrance free and non-toxic. This is a concentrate so it comes with 2 ounces of concentrate and then you fill the bottle with filtered water.

That completed my purchases and all that was just under $100 plus free shipping.

The hardest part of the ordering process on iHerb’s Google Trusted store was deciding which pet products I wanted to try and which products were actually cost effective for giant breed dogs. Setting up my account was a breeze and only took a few minutes. I placed my order on a Thursday afternoon and had the product in my hands by Saturday.

Besides the affordable prices and fast ordering, another thing that I like about iHerb is that they offer products with a good expiration date. They can do this because they have one of the highest product turnover rates in the industry. You can also access expiration or best-by dates on the product page which comes in handy for me because I’m often buying products for giant breed dogs which are usually less popular than other, smaller breed products.

iHerb has 2 distribution centers in Kentucky and California where all their products come from also. They also offers free shipping on eligible orders. In most cases this means that the more products that you order, the more likely you are to receive free shipping. However, certain products are available for free shipping and they ship to 160 countries with a great customer service team that provides customer support in 10 different languages.

I'm in love with this now! I guess I've been out of the loop and running around to all kind of stores trying to get our stuff. This is a little easier!
