We had a glorious weekend.
The weather was perfect.
A bit chilly on Saturday but Sunday was perfect and I took full advantage of the warm weather and dedicated the day to giving Sherman and Leroy a bath and some grooming time.
I did things a little different this time.
Instead of giving them a bath in the dark, cold garage I moved all my bathing and grooming stuff to the backyard so that we could actually be outside enjoying the beautiful day.
I have to say, it worked quite well and I don’t know why I have never done it this way before.
I gave Sherman a bath and then toweled dried him and let him hang out the yard while I gave Leroy a bath.
Then after Leroy’s bath I put Sherman up on the table, dried and trimmed for a bit, while Leroy hung out in the yard and air dried a little.
After Sherman was done Leroy went up on the table.
It worked well because instead of having to bathe and dry each dog all at once I was able to split it up and give each of them a break in between grooming stages.
As you might be able to tell from the above pictures, Sherman was a little more cooperative than Leroy with our new system.
Leroy was easily distracted by the sounds of the neighborhood and jumped off the grooming table at least a half dozen times and I would have to bribe him each time to get back up on the table.
That’s all right though, spending all day outside with the boys was the perfect way to spend a Sunday and now I have two squeaky clean dogs all ready for the next three days of rain.
