We had a pretty hot weekend here with temperatures hoovering in the upper eighties to the lower nineties.
I knew ahead of time that this was going to be one of the hottest weekends we’ve had so far this summer and I knew we had plans to spend most of our time outside with the kids swimming in the pool and my husband and I doing yard work out back, which meant that the dogs would be outside in the heat with us, which meant I needed to get Sherman a new pool because his old one had sprung a leak.
I had been looking for a good size plastic pool for the last couple of weeks and I couldn’t find one anywhere. They were either way to small or they had a slide built in and I really didn’t think Sherman needed a pool with a slide in it.
Luckily my sister was out and about on Friday running errands and she saw the perfect sized pool that I was looking for and grabbed it.
Being the wonderful sister and dog aunt that she is, she graciously brought it over for Sherman the next day and he couldn’t wait to jump in and cool down.
And then he jumped out and grabbed his favorite toy and jumped back in again.
Where he sat for well over an hour, just holding the toy in his mouth.
It was cute and pathetic all at the same time.
He had his pool.
He had his toy.
Life was good.
Now if only he could keep the Leroy spit out of his pool, life would be even better.
