Honorable Mention

Back in the summer I entered a few pictures of Leroy into a
photo contest for the Newfoundland Club Of America.
It’s an annual photo contest that the NCA  holds once a year.
The winners are mentioned in the fourth quarter of the Newf Tide,
which is a magazine that is published quarterly by the NCA.
Well we received our Fourth Quarter Newf Tide the other
day in the mail and when I opened it up I almost fell over
when I saw that we received an honorable mention in
the photo contest!
This is the picture that received the award:
The judge was Alana Shirley who is a portrait and gallery artist
and also an owner of Newfoundlands for over 40 years.
This is what she had to say about the photo:
“This is a black and white shot of what appears to be
a brown or gray Newfoundland.
During the printing process this photographer skillfully
tinted the dog’s ball orange, creating a unique effect.
Note the darker orange under the dog’s lip and low on the
ball in shade.”
For real?
Is she talking about me??
I guess so cause that’s my dog and that’s my name under the picture!
We are quite honored by this award since there were some fantastic photos entered.
We also received a copy of the Annual of Titlists of 2009
from the NCA, which lists all the Newfoundlands that received
titles during that year….
and…
Sherman’s name was listed in there!
I can not begin to tell you how excited I am
and how proud of my boys I am.
