I bet some of you have been wondering why you haven’t heard any talk around here about dog shows.
Well let me explain.
The winter is a slow time for for shows. After December the shows start to get few and far between.
I mean there are still shows going on they are just either not local, not worth the drive, or not worth the drive in the snow. There was a few shows that I thought about doing but when I looked out my backyard and saw that my money tree was bare I had to think twice about it. The holiday season and well…just the economy in general has bled my poor tree dry. I am sure most of you know what I am saying.
Shows are an expensive hobby, fun but expensive.
So while I wait…… and wait… for the tree to replenish itself, I have changed my focus for this show year.
First, we will be entering back into the ring at the end of April, early May at the latest, , at that time we should be entered into a few shows back to back.
I will focus on Leroy earning his championship.
Here Leroy is getting back into our regular grooming routine.
Earlier in the year I had mentioned that I was going to get Sherman back into the ring for him to work on his Grand Championship title. That focus has changed for 2 reasons.
1. Getting Leroy’s Championship is the most important thing at this time.
2. I have decided not to show Sherman myself at this time, I just don’t see me being a good enough handler.
The goal will be to get Leroy’s championship by the end of summer and have Sherman back in the ring by fall.
I need to stay focused.
Focus is key.
It’s hard for me to stay focused!
I lose focus quickly!
Losing focus usually gets me in trouble.
I want it all and I want it NOW!
F-O-C-U-S!
I am going to revisit this post each time I lose focus this Spring and Summer, each time my crazy little mind tells me to go off course. I will look back and see the word FOCUS and that is what I shall do.

I can't complete a project. I understand the difficulty in focussing. Good luck. Leroy looks good. I don't know what's necessary for a Newfie to get his championship, but I'd snuggle him. Surely that counts.
