Today is Take Your Pet To Work Day!
Figures it would be on a day that I don’t have to work.
That’s alright though.
The boys have accompanied me to work many times.
They have quickly learned that coming to work with Mom usually isn’t all that fun.
Here’s why:
For Sherman going to work with Mom usually means that:
1-He is going to get poked and prodded. Which means that he hasn’t been acting himself and I turn into a paranoid freak and he must have an exam and full bloodwork done ASAP.
Which…. always comes back normal.
(insider info for you, drawing blood on Sherman is not as easy as one may think. Sherman has very small vessels, so between small vessels and layers of hair, it is like trying to find a needle in a haystack.)
.
2-Another reason why Sherman may go to work with me is because of a broken nail. Which means, he gets some “feel good” medicine and takes a nice little nap. After which he wakes up, minus one nail and feeling quite dopey, and in a cage, with Mom right by his side of course!
(Sherman does not do well with sedation, so we only use it if one of the nails is cracked to the base)
(For those who are new to our blog Sherman suffers from SLO, which in a nutshell, is a condition that causes him to have brittle nails that crack and break easy, Sherman has mild case of this condition)
For Leroy it can means that:
1-He is being monitored in a controlled environment to make sure that the battery he ate is going to make it out successfully and not explode in his stomach.
2- He needs to have pictures of of his stomach taken once again to make sure that the rocks or other foreign body he ate is going to pass.
(Whenever Leroy comes to work with me he tries his best not to make eye contact with the x-ray table)
Both boys will accompany me when I am working a very long day and no one is at home to show them any love. This doesn’t happen often, which is good, because while Leroy will just lay down and listen to all the hustle and bustle going on around him, Sherman does not like to be confined and will whine and bark when he hears my voice.
So I guess for them missing Take Your Pet To Work Day isn’t so bad.
I tried to convince my husband to take Leroy to work with him today to be his apprentice plumber, but he didn’t think that would be a very good idea.
I don’t why, I think Leroy wold look cute carrying around a little tool belt.

I have to admit that both Leroy and Sherman would look might fine in a tool belt!! Back when I was working, we weren't allowed to have dogs in the buildings...unless they were service dogs! The girlz are quite happy with me at home...actually they are happiest when we are in the RV!!

Holly has to stay home with me because I don't go to work anymore! I wish back in the days of working, I was able to bring my dog into the office...that would have been fun!! Lots of love, Debbie & Holly

Hmmmm, we have never gotten to go to work with Dad, but we go to work with Mom everyday because she works at home, well, she calls it work, but she doesn't get paid:) Phantom came home from the spa the other day with a dewclaw in a bottle. Mom said it was very brittle. It just fell off, no blood, nothing. How funny that Leroy won't look at the xray table - if I don't look at it, it isn't there - BOL.Woos ~ Phantom, Thunder, and Ciara

I love the new 'take your dog to work' idea, but I know we will never be able to do it. Lucky pooches.

The boys are so 'newfish'! Love them. : ) I think a tool belt is in order. I want to take Miss Stella to work for a visit one day...she had them all in shock when we first got her. I can only imagine what they will think at this point. : )
