Today, August 26th is National Dog Day!
I did not know this until this morning! How could I not know about
the most important day of the year?
Geez! I suck!
So what is National Dog Day?
National Dog Day is celebrated each year on August 26th.
It is a day to recognize the number of dogs that need to be rescued each year, and acknowledge
family dogs and dogs that work selflessly each day to save lives, keep us safe, and bring comfort.
Founded in 2004 by Pet Lifestyle Expert Colleen Paige, the day was created to honor dogs more than we currently do, to give them their own “special” day to show our deep appreciation for all that they do for us.
Their devotion, their patience, their work, and their capacity for love.
National Dog Day wishes to encourage dog ownership of all breeds, mixed and purebreds,
and embraces the opportunity for all dogs to live a safe and happy life.
National Dog Day is against any kind of breed ban and strongly discourages buying
from pet stores, backyard breeders, the internet, newspaper ads, and puppy mills.
National Dog Day is also brought to you from The American Miracle Foundation and Network.
So on National Dog Day I would like to send out a HUGE THANK YOU to my guys!

I had no idea yesterday was National Dog Day!I did kinda celebrate this - just a day late! Today I participated in a local dog walk to raise funds for the humane society. It was only $3 a dog and there were way more people than dogs there but hopefully they got some extra donations.

Geez I must suck too!! I did not know that either. Thank you so much for this enlightening post and I will be sure to put this on my calendar so I don't miss it next year.Happy National Dog Day!
