Oh where do I begin?
How about the part where Leroy earned his his championship title while I was gone in Florida.
That’s right, he did it. Leroy managed to make my “worst case scenario” turn into reality.
May I introduce to you, CH. Bydand’s Badd Badd Leroy Brown.
Yup. Leroy earned his championship title on Thursday, December 15th!
He took a 4 point major!!
I am so proud of him that I am about to burst at that seams!
We moved him up to compete as a Special the remaining days of the show and he didn’t fair as well, but that’s fine because MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!!
However, with all that being said, when my husband called me in Florida minutes after Leroy had won I was devastated that I had missed it. Sure, I was excited and shrieked for joy in my hotel room, which I think frightened my neighbors a bit, but then the tears started flowing and I couldn’t stop crying.
I had missed the “moment” and I was heartbroken.
I immediately called my breeder to share the wonderful news with her and I could barely speak the words through my sobs.
Then, a few hours later as I was walking through the AKC/Eukanuba National Dog Show, Leroy’s handler called and I started bawling again. So basically you can say that I spent my first day at the biggest dog show of the year in beautiful Orlando, Florida, sobbing and sobbing, and sobbing some more.
The one thing that did get me through it was the fact that I was so proud of him…….that and the fact that we toasted to him at dinner that night, where I cried…….again.
I have so much to tell you about the AKC/Eukanuba National Dog Show and the wonderful time that I had there, but first I have to get through the holidays, so I will be back next week to give you the low down!
A special thank you to some very special friends who attended the show and took pictures and videos for me and then shared them so that I could see Leroy at the show!
That was just amazing that you took the time to do that and I am so thankful!
