Fashionably Late or Always on Time

I’m a fashionably late kind of person. Always have been, and unfortuantley for my husband, I always will be.

My husbands an “always on time” person.

Over the years that we have been married he has done his best to try and convert me over to his side but I think he has finally given up on me.

There is no hope.

I have to blame my Dad for my lack of punctuality. He never made a big deal about getting somewhere on time. We got there when we got there and if we happened to get there on time that was a bonus. I, being his daughter who has inherited every trait that he has, am quite comfortable with a fashionably late kind of style.

Now don’t get my wrong, I don’t plan on being late to things, it just happens that way. I plan everything down to the last minute but I never leave room for error. Take for instance going to work, I have that timed perfectly, that is, if my morning goes without an incident. If you throw an incident into my morning the whole schedule is off.

What type of incidents am I talking about? Well……let’s say it rains. That means I have to wipe the dogs off, which means I need more time, time that I have NOT planned for. Or let’s say….. on my way out the door for work I go to get Leroy in the house and find him stuck under the deck.

You know the deck that we just put a fence around so that Leroy couldn’t get under it and eat the rocks?

Yeah,  that deck.

Imagine my surprise when I found him on the other side of it yesterday morning without any evidence of a forced entry.

Not one sign that he knocked it over or climbed under it.

Nope. The fence was fully intact.

As I stood there staring at him trying to figure out how the hell in got in, my only guess was that he jumped up on the deck and then jumped down in the enclosed area and forgot how he got in there in the first place. Then I had to figure out how and if I was going to get him out.

You gonna bust me out or what lady?

The only logical way was to cut the fence so I did.

Now keep in mind this whole incident set me back about 15 minutes.

15 minutes that was not planned into my schedule.

15 minutes that made me fashionably late to work…….again.

Have you ever tried to explain to your boss that you were late because you had to bust your dog out?

Yeah. I didn’t think so.

Lucky for me my boss is the same person who has to take x-rays of the rocks in his stomach.

So what about you? Are you a fashionably late or always on time type of person?

(For those of you who were trying to guess what was “majorly wrong” with the picture I posted yesterday, nice job on noticing the garbage can! That garbage can has been in that same position for over a year. It is guarding the Azalea bush, that Leroy tried to eat. I am assuming the bush is dead by now seeing as it hasn’t seen daylight in over 365 days. I am sad to admit that I am just to lazy to lift the can to take a look.)

(As far as Leroy not wearing the basket muzzle, another nice observation by you! This was actually the first time in over a month I let him out without the muzzle on and he obviously, was determined to take full advantage of it!)

Kol and Leroy aren't allowed to hang out anymore. Kolchak got out of the yard yesterday and I have NO IDEA HOW. There is not "chink in the chain" so to speak...The escape, combined with his recent carrot theft leave me to only one sane conclusion: My dog has magical powers.

Funny! I am usually early or on time. Actually, people that are late drive me completely crazy! But you have some really great excuses for being late, so it's all good. :)

Ha-ha, so I am taking it that I would drive you crazy? LOL, that's ok, I drive my husband crazy too!

We must have a strange household - the hubby and I are both "on time" kind of people! I used to trick my best friend into being on time by telling her the wrong time (it never worked!). Leroy is quite the character . .and that face!!
