We’re having a typical Ohio summer.
It started off with a lot of rain and cooler temperatures and then it went straight to hot.
Then it got cool. Then it hot and humid.
Cool again and now we’re at near breaking hot temperature for the first week of September.
Towards the end of the week we’ll be back to cool, fall like weather and I have no idea what the week after that holds.
I do know that Sherman and Leroy are done with the hot weather and they are ready to move onto to something that holds a bit cooler temps.
I feel bad when it gets so hot like this for long periods of time. The heat is one thing but throw in the humidity and yuck-o.
This type of weather limits their time outside and cuts off their adventures.
Leroy deals with the heat better than Sherman but even he is having it tough this week.
If the temps don’t fall below 80 at dusk our walks are out.
If the temps are approaching the 90″s they don’t leave the house.
This bums Leroy right the heck out.
I’ve actually noticed him going into a slight state of depression when he can’t get out and about.
He just looks bummed.
He’s a dog that strives to be out and about so I’ve been trying to throw in some inside activities to keep his spirits up.
We play find it, use interactive puzzles and just have plain old horsing around fun.
It brings his spirits up a little bit but definitely not as much as a nice long walk or a trip to his favorite store.

In a few more weeks I’m hoping we’ll have a few days that bring Newf-like weather to Ohio.
Not snow but a little bit of crispness in the air. For the sake of the Newfs of course.
Welcome to the MONDAY MISCHIEF Pet Blog Hop! The hop that wraps up the weekend!

Mica has just been sleeping it off and we have have some 70's thrown in for woods walks. Aspen, being still a puppy starts hunting for new things to do to get into trouble if he can't get out and run off all the energy!!

Perhaps the boys would like to come visit us. It's supposed to snow on Monday :( But a pair of Newfs would make it more bearable!

It's been a crazy summer here in NH too, pretty similar to yours. We were hoping for a bit more heat before it was over, but these last few days have been hotter than the whole summer! We are ready for fall now too. These dogs don't often slow down, but this heat does it. Our nights are cooler, but the bugs are still around so we don't generally venture out after dusk.

We are pretty sick of the heat here too!
