“It’s Their World, I Just Live In It.” Limited Time Newfie Rescue Fundraiser With Custom Ink

This post is sponsored by Custom Ink. All opinions expressed here are mine and mine only.

Last week I talked about easy ways that you can help Newfies in rescue or foster care without adopting.

One easy way that was mentioned was fundraising and today we’re excited to share one of ours that was just launched today!

We’ve teamed up with our friends at Custom Ink to show you how easy and fun it can be to create a fundraiser to help a rescue organization of your choice.

The first thing you’ll need to do is find a non-profit organization that you would like the proceeds of the fundraiser to go for.

Next head over to Custom Ink and create an account.

After you’ve set up your account, the fun starts and you can create your awesome design.

You can use or own design, choose from some of the thousands designs that the Custom Ink Design Lab has or you can reach out to a designer at Custom Ink and they help you create a unique design just for your fundraiser.

When you’re creating the design, keep in mind that the more graphics and colors that you use the more that design will cost. Simple is going to be the least expensive.

When your design is all set you can then begin to choose which products that you’ll want your design to go on.

Custom Ink has hundreds of products to choose from! They have active-wear, mugs, ornaments, towels, pens, hats, etc….. and they also have popular brands including Nike, Under Armour, North Face, Hanes, Adidas and many more.

Keep in mind when picking your products that your design can go on 6 apparel products. Some people pick all the same products and change the color and others will choose to do a combination of sweatshirts, t-shirts, and hoodies.

After you have the design on the products of your choice then you can set up your fundraiser page.

For this, you’ll need then the name of the non-profit organization, address of where the check you’ll be going to, a description about the fundraiser and then you’re ready to launch!

A fundraising campaign usually runs for 2-4 weeks and when the campaign closes, Custom Ink fulfills the orders and sends the money raised to the organization that you picked.

Our Fundraiser

I had so much fun creating our fundraiser for South Central Newfoundland Rescue.

I chose this rescue group because it’s local to me. SCNRescue covers Indiana, Ohio, parts of Kentucky and Michigan.

They have currently filled with rescue Newfies and are in need of foster families and they could really use some funds to help care and provide for the Newfies that they are taking in.  (If you would like to fill out an application to be a foster, you can fill one out here.)

The design that I used was one that’s special to be.

In case you didn’t know, the tagline for the My Brown Newfies is, “It’s their world, I just live in it.”

This is genuinely how I feel about Sherman, Leroy, and Odin and I think every Newfie should be that highly regarded.

They gave us so much and the least we can do is give them the world.

As far as colors for the breed go, I tried to keep it simple.

I went with just a black Newf because if I wanted to go with each color I would have to create a new design and a new fundraiser.

Where to put the image, on the front or the back, was also not an easy decision so I took to Instagram and asked what everyone preferred. 70% said they preferred this design on the front so that’s where it went.

With the design, I started off with a world that was colored and a black Newf in the center with black writing. As I searched through other fundraisers that were taking place on Custom Ink,  I noticed that the designs that had fewer colors actually looked a little better and earned more sales so I changed the world and lettering to white.

This also lowered the cost making the sweatshirt more affordable which will hopefully increase the fundraiser’s potential.

The price changes with additional colors because the shirts are screen printed and each color is printed separately.

It took me quite a long time to get the campaign set in a way that I thought it would be successful.

I probably put too much thought into it but I had a blast getting it all together and I can’t wait to see a bunch of our friends wearing this design and us coming together to help Newfies get the world they deserve!

I had so much fun doing this one that I already have one planned for next year!

I encourage anyone who is thinking about creating a fundraiser for a cause close to them to consider checking out our friends at Custom Ink.

I’ve set up a goal to sell 100 of these designs which would give SCNR a nice donation just in time for the hectic holiday season when rescues become overwhelmed with dogs. Help us reach that goal by ordering a hoodie or shirt from our fundraiser today

Thank you for this opportunity Jen. Any rescue that provides assistance to Newfoundland's deserves help. Thank you for letting us know. By the way, the shirt is great!

Great idea, Jen! Much as I would love to donate, all my "disposable" income right now is going to other things. I wish you great success with the campaign!!
