Other than our frozen watermelon dog treats, this is one of Odin’s favorite frozen treats all year round and I make them at least once a month for him and since you all know that I like easy, this is as easy as it gets and you don’t even need a blender!
First, I have heard some concerns about blueberries not being safe for dogs.
I can guarantee that blueberries are safe for most dogs when given in moderation.
Blueberries are low in fat, filled with antioxidants, high in Vitamin C, and contain phytochemicals.
Phytochemicals are naturally occurring chemical compounds found in plants.
If you have any questions about giving blueberries to your dog you should definitely talk to your veterinarian.
Keep in mind, any new food that you introduce to your dog should be given gradually to avoid an upset stomach.
Ingredients Needed For Frozen Banana Blueberry Dog Treats
- 1 Large Banana
- 1/2 cups washed and dried blueberries
- 1/4 cup peanut butter (no xylitol) The type of peanut butter you use is up to you. If you’re feeling up to it, you can make your own homemade peanut butter for dogs.
Supplies Needed
- Measuring cup
- Large bowl
- Mixing Spoon
- Silicone dog molds
How To Make Frozen Banana Blueberry Dogs Treats

- Smash the banana with a fork in a mixing bowl
- Stir in peanut butter (check out this post on the best types of peanut butter to use in dog treat recipes)
- Carefully fold in blueberries (You can use fresh or frozen)
- Spoon into silicone molds
- Place in the freezer overnight or for 6-8 hours
- Serve to your dog!
Variations
If your dog is on a diet and you want to eliminate the peanut butter you can substitute nonfat plain Greek yogurt.
If you want your frozen banana blueberry dog treats to be more blended, you can throw the ingredients in a blender and blend.

Make sure that the peanut butter you’re using does not contain xylitol.
Xylitol is an artificial sweetener that is toxic to dogs.
You don’t have to use dog-themed silicone molds, you can use whatever you want!
You can even make blueberry bombs with whiskey ice ball molds.
This recipe filled about 8 of my silicone paw molds so if you want more, you can double the recipe.
