If you read this blog last year than you know exactly what I’m talking about when I refer to the Dog Pee Garden.
If you weren’t a reader last year than you can read up on the dog pee garden here, and here and even here.
Long story short, last year I planted my very first vegetable garden for my family. Little did I know that my garden was going to be a free for all for bunnies, groundhogs, snakes and the worst offenders, deer. After several attempts to keep the deer away with other suggestions by the garden experts, I finally had to use dog urine to deter them. I would have the dogs pee in a bowl and then place the bowl of pee outside of the garden. It worked and my garden grew happily ever after.
I couldn’t wait to get started on the garden this year and the first free weekend I had was last weekend so Gracie and Sherman and I got started.
Well Gracie and I got started, Sherman just goofed off with the watering can.
While he was getting acquainted with the watering can, Gracie and I were busy planting away. We had a lot of plants and seeds to plant this year since we extended the garden an extra 6 feet.
The garden this year will consist of several different types of tomatoes, cucumbers, red, yellow and green peppers, carrots, lettuce, zucchini, leeks, kale, dill, basil, and even fruit-watermelon and cantaloupe.
I’m so excited and worried about this garden.
I fear the deer and have already started with our pee routine.
While I haven’t gotten desperate enough for the pee in the bowl, I have been walking the dogs around the perimeter of the garden and letting them pee, not in the garden, just around it.
They’re doing a good job and so far so good, but the other day I saw 3 wild turkeys in my neighbors yard and I almost had a heart attack.
I have no idea what deters wild frickin turkeys.

I remember those posts from last year (although, yikes!, it doesn't seem like it was a year ago already). They were funny and definitely made me want to read your blog more often :)

Wow, I'd be so darn excited to see the wild animals that I'd probably do the garden for them! That's sooo cool that you get to see animals like wild turkeys and such...well, not snakes though-ew! What a beautiful little daughter you have too!!! Good luck with the garden!!

Oh yeah....Miss Chloe chased an entire HERD of MAD Wild Turkeys all around the yard and AWAY from HER yard!! I, on the other hand, was having a complete meltdown because I thought the turkeys would turn around and eat her! Good luck with your garden!

I would steer clear of those turkeys. Big mean birds are scary.

I don't think anything deters turkeys! Maybe turkey sandwiches. They're mean old codgers, though! I stay away from them, and I'm pretty fearless. I hope you have good luck keeping the garden safe this year!
I LOVE how the Adelle theme looks on your blog! I almost went with it. I recognize it because it's the same place I got my new one from! ;) We both have excellent pink taste!

I think we both changed themes at the same time! I laughed when I saw we had got the themes from the same place!
I love the new look of your blog too, very clean and crisp and shows off the pictures beautifully!
