I Love Him With All My Heart

As I wrap up my posts for Pet Poison Prevention week I thought that I would list some of the objects that Leroy has ingested over the last 2 years that he has graced me with his presence.
2 of the things required a call to the Animal Poison Control, which cost me a pretty penny.
In no particular order:
Silly bandz, hair tyes, one little girls very special blankie, AA batteries, pencils, pens, rubber bands, paper clips, buttons, part of a cell phone, part of a remote control, slipper, erasers, rocks, chicken wings, corn cob, hair brush, pool chalk, pennies, marbles, part of an Azalea bush.
Now these are just some of the things that I can remember.
I am sure there is a few more.
Now don’t get me wrong, I am not making light of any of this. Each one of these things that he ingested could of done great harm to him and I know that. If  a dog Plunger’s size had ingested some of these objects there is a good chance he would of had to have them surgically removed or even worse, died.
Leroy has been extremely lucky.
I have never had a dog like Leroy who ingested indigestible objects.
I have learned a great deal about being careful of what is in his reach, which is just about everything.
We have had to “Leroy” proof our house and everyone in our home is responsible for this.
Although Leroy has seemed to have gotten a bit better with consuming things as he matures, he brings a challenge to me everyday and always keeps me on my toes.
I love him with all my heart.

He has more personality in his left paw than I have in my whole body.
He makes me laugh. He makes me cry.
He makes me stop with the hustle and bustle of daily life and enjoy the fresh breeze outside.
He is the reason I started this blog, to share his life with you.
He is the dog that you only get once in a lifetime.
It is my job to keep him safe and so far it doesn’t look like I have done a very good, as with most things in life there is room for improvement.

this may have been said above--i'm not sure. 8 pm is bedtime (paaaartay) for those of us who get up at 4 am. anyway, there was a viral post shared on facebook a few months back that showed x-rays of all the odd things ingested. they're closer to the floor, you know. they'll see and smell things we don't. don't beat yourself up. it is, however, terrifying to find a pin or the like on the floor--you wonder if one is in the belly.he's lucky to have such a girlfriend in you.
