This Weekends Show Report

To sum it up in one word:
Wow!
On Saturday Leroy took 3rd.
Usually I would say 3rd place stinks, because it isn’t 1st place, and anything other than 1st place sucks.
But not this time. We were in the company of some excellent Newfs.  Beautiful boys, nice structures, nice movement and beautiful thick coats. It was great to share the ring with each one of them.
3rd wasn’t so bad.
Sunday I went to the show by myself expecting about the same result as Saturday.
Leroy looked awesome, lacking some coat compared to the other boys, but he moved great and was more animated than I have seen him in awhile in the ring.
He took Winners Dog for a 3 point major!!
WOO-HOO!!!!!
It was awesome! What made it even more awesome was the fact that we were in the ring with so many beautiful Newfs, they all were amazing, and some of the best that I think we have competed against!
I was humbled to get the major and may have even shed a few tears while no one was looking, seeing as I have this problem with controlling my emotions lately. Blah, blah, blah.
So that leaves Leroy with a total of 9 points and 6 more to go.
He has both of his majors out of the way, which makes thing so much easier.
Our next show is in PA over Memorial Day Weekend.
It’s a 5 days show, but we are only doing 3 days. 2 of the days are majors so we will see what happens!
Sorry there are not any pictures, I can’t figure out how to load my pics to my laptop, and I am too tired to mess around with it for hours, so I will post pictures later this week!

Nice job, Leroy! Have fun in PA. A friend of mine is going to the PA shows for the Sam Specialty. I probably should have gone b/c I like the sweeps judge, but I'm just not up for a long drive while gas is still so high. Amber-Mae - a "major" is a show with enough dogs that a win yields 3 points or more (up to 5). The point schedule is different depending upon where you are in the country, but you can always look it up on the AKC website.

Doing the Happy dance here for you. Congratulations!!! It is always more special when a Brown gets the big win. There are judges that just won't do it no matter how superior a brown Newf is. (Yes SUPERIOR)Way to go and best of luck for finishing quickly.

That is SO awesome!!! Huge congratulations! Yeah, it feels really great to be competing with top dogs that already have their Championship titles. It's even greater when your dogs win against them. It has happened a few times with Amber. It makes my heart beat so fast with excitement when that happens. I bet you're on Cloud 9 right now!P/S: Yes, we're different but Challenge Certificates are similar to points. We have to have 3 Challenge Certificates to earn a championship. It's similar to FCI structure. For an AKC championship, you have to earn 15 points including 2 "major" wins, right? What does "major" actually mean?
