Pay Attention Where You Walk Please.

For the most part I am always paying attention when I take the dogs for a walk. I have to watch out for food on the ground, annoying groundhogs who refuse to move, rocks, street signs, etc. However, sometimes I admit to getting lost in my thoughts. I like to think and walk.
Sometimes this works out well for me and sometimes it does not.

I think that Leroy is a thinker when he walks too, it’s the only excuse I have for him walking into things when he walks. Once he walked into a street sign, and I felt for him because once I walked into a telephone pole.

We’ve all been there at one point in time Leroy. It’s alright buddy.

Last week however, Leroy walked into a parked car. Seriously.

We were walking our usual walking route and we came to the same parking lot that we pass everyday. There were a few more cars in the lot than normal and Leroy was on a sniffing mission and then all of a sudden BAM! His head smacked right into the bumper of a car. Leroy wasn’t phased by the run in and just kept sniffing along, but I was like WTH? Did that just happen? Did he really just walk into a parked car? WTH?! and then I busted out laughing because what dog does that? and then I looked around to see if anyone saw us, then I started walking a bit faster because I’m pretty sure Leroy shifted the bumper when he walked into it.

Judge me if you want, but really, what was I suppose to do? Go into the building and explain to the owner of the car that my dog just walked into his bumper and may have shifted it a bit and then offer him my insurance information?
Um….no. I’m pretty sure my insurance won’t cover that, so I did the next mature thing……..I laughed until I cried and took off running.

So what about you? Have you OR your dog ever walked into anything on a walk? Be honest.
