The other day I was outside on a mission trying to get a picture of a bluebird.
I’ve been wanting a picture of a bluebird forever now and it never happens.
It doesn’t happen because Leroy is usually barking at everything that moves or makes a sound outside and perhaps it’s never going to happen because this bird that I was trying to take a picture of almost took my head off and now I’m a wee bit hesitant to zoom in on any bird in flight.
This killer bird looked a lot cuter sitting on my fence post than it did making a bee line for my face, so I abandoned my bird taking pictures and moved my focus onto squirrels.
Squirrels may be a little less likely to decapitate me.
This squirrel was taking a squirrel nap in a tree.
I’ve never seen a squirrel take a nap in a tree and it was kind of odd because it looked liked it was dead.
I can assure you, it was not dead, it’s just a squirrel napping in a tree.
After I figured that out, I caught a glimpse of this little baby squirrel and I have since become obsessed with his cuteness.
I’ve never seen a baby squirrel, or maybe I have and I forgot, but nonetheless, I want to keep him.
I want to keep him and love him forever and call him Fred.
Unfortunately, my husband doesn’t share my adoration for this baby squirrel and I have been told that I am not, under any circumstances, allowed to adopt him and make him a pet, not even for a little bit.
What a party pooper.

Tree rats are what my husband calls them, he can't stand them. I like you think they are cute, but know they aren't safe at my house, Willow actually caught one out of a tree... yes she got a squirrel out of a tree! Took us ten minutes to chase her down and retrieve what was left of it. :(

The bird picture is brilliant in a 'you can see the bird thinking he is going to kill you kind of way!'
Fred is lovely, can we start a petition so you can keep Fred or should you just play by the 'what hubby doesn't know he can't kill you for' rules?!

My hubby hates squirrels too!! I don't think I've ever seen a baby one, come to think of it, and doesn't that seem strange when we see so many adult ones? The birds might be diving at your head because they're nesting....maybe you should wait a few weeks and try again. :)
