Leeo Smart Alert. Because When I’m Not Home My Dogs Can’t Call Me If The House Is On Fire.

Leeo Smart Alert for National Animal Safety and Protection Month

Whenever I leave the house I have to double check to make my curling iron is unplugged, all the oven knobs are in the “off” position and the furnace is at the correct temperature. On occasion I have even been en route to work and made a U-turn to come back and triple check those things.

I also panic when more than one person in the house a headache. Is carbon monoxide leaking into the house? No one fall asleep!

I’m a little paranoid when it comes to things like this and for good reason, because it breaks my heart every time I hear about a house fire.

It’s one of my biggest fears.

That my house will burn down when no one is home except for the dogs.

Which is why I’m super excited to share a great new product and app just in time for the end of National Animal Safety and Protection Month.

Leeo Smart Alery

Meet Leeo Smart Alert.

Leeo protects pets and your house from fires and carbon monoxide by monitoring your smoke alarm and CO detectors. It’s also a very spiffy LED nightlight that features more than 16 million color options.

Leeo Smart Alert

The Leeo Smart Alert is a simple device that you plug into an electrical outlet and set up using the free Leeo smart phone app for iOS and Android. It continuously listens for your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. If they sound, Leeo immediately calls and texts so that you can take quick action to protect your pets and your home.

The Leeo Smart Alert is your ears when you’re not home.

How to set the Smart Alert up:

  • Plug device into any outlet in your home.
  • Upload Leeo app
  • Set your preferences
  • Test Leeo

My review of the Leeo Smart Alert

I set Leeo up in out hallway in between the kids’ bedroom, which is where our fire alarm is. Our carbon monoxide decter is about 20 feet away.

Next I set up the app, which took me less than 5 minutes.

  • I named my location-Home/hallway
  • Connected it with my WiFi
  • Entered my address
  • Entered my cell phone number
  • Entered my second contact information (husband’s cell)
  • Set my nightlight color to pink 🙂
  • And then tested the alarms.

Good to go.

Next I tested to see if the app would really call me so I set off the carbon monoxide detector.

In less than a minute Leeo set me an alert.

Leeo Smart Alert

The alert is cool because it gives you the option to listen to the alarm that is going off in your house, which I thought was a pretty clear recording.  You can respond by pressing dismiss, listen or call 911.

Since I didn’t respond to that notification Leeo called me about 30 seconds later. The automated voice operator advised me that Leeo had detected the carbon monoxide detector alarm, played the sound for me and then asked if I felt this was a false alarm to press 2 or to press 1 if I needed to call 911. Of course I responded that it was a false alarm.

My only concern with the Leeo Smart Alert does not have a backup battery, but luckily if your power or WiFi is not functioning, the app will send you a push notification so you know instantly and can figure out what’s happening.

Leeo can also let you know when your home’s temperature and humidity aren’t the way you like them. So you can make sure your pets are nice and cozy when you’re gone.

Leeo Smart Alert

The Leeo Smart Alert is an all-around pretty cool device and I especially love the nightlight action. It has an ambient light sensor so it will turn off if it’s not in a dark area and you can adjust the color through the app on your phone and the brightness by turning the knob on the device.

Did you know that October was Fire Prevention Month and several stores have their fire alarms and CO detectors on sale right now? I just bought 2 new ones last week at a local drug store for a great deal!

And don’t forget that the Fire Dept. asks you to check the batteries in your alarms once a month in order to ensure they are working properly. 🙂

WHEW!I thought I was the only paranoid human out here that did those things. I have been known to turn around in the car to triple check the stove. This sounds like just the right thing for my piece of mind. Never heard of it before - thanks for sharing. I'll look into it.

I hate leaving the dogs and cat home alone, and that is exactly why. This sounds great, and the price is better than I expected it would be too!

Oh wow, cold idea! Just out of curiosity: How do you set off your carbon monoxide alarm to test Leeo?

Love this. Potential fire is one of the reasons I don't leave our dogs home alone unless I have to and even then I can't stay away for more than couple hours.
