Barks n’ Brews-All For One. The BREW Kettle

Happy Friday!

Our local beer is finally featured!

It’s about time, right?

Well hold onto your basketballs because it doesn’t get much more local than this one.

All For One is  brewed by a local brewery, actually right in my hometown, The Brew Kettle.

This isn’t a new beer. Well it is but it is not THIS year new. It actually came out last March but I wasn’t drinking craft beer last March so this beer is new to me.

The Brew: “”The Cleveland Cavaliers teamed up with a local brewery to create a limited release beer for the team called, “All for One.” The India Pale Ale is crafted to appeal to a wider range of beer drinkers.” All For One is a Session IPA and is a “hop forward brew without the bite (4.75% ABV, 35 IBUs). It’s packed with big fruity, citrus flavor and brewed with the addition of the spicy character of rye malt.” Brewed in Strongsville, Ohio.  (Hometown to ME!)  The Brew Kettle opened its doors in the fall of 1995 as Ohio’s First Brew-On-Premise Microbrewery.

Curious as to what a Session IPA is? Me too. From what I can gather it’s an IPA beer that is suppose to have no higher than a 5% ABV. The reason is to provide a flavorful, big-tasting beer that’s easy to drink and won’t weigh you down. A lite IPA? A great beer to have at lunch maybe?  Someone correct me if I’m wrong here.

The Barks: Finally, an IPA that I liked! Probably because it wasn’t super strong. It poured an extremely nice dark blonde color.  (Is that a correct beer color reference? Probably not. A first morning dog urine color? Yep. That’s it.)  Nice thick foam at the top. (I don’t like saying head) First sip was kind of strong but the rest were nice and smooth. Once again,  I barely tasted any citrus flavor, more malt. I don’t know, maybe my pallet is off or I’m expecting something else when they say ‘citrus” flavor. Definitely a beer I would drink again and one that I will drink when watching the Cavs in the finals!  In it to win it baby! For the love of dog, please be in it to win it this year.

I’m super excited to feature a local beer here today that I liked. All  For One is a seasonal beer that most of you probably can’t get but The Brew Kettle has a lot of other great beers too! My husband and I are heading off to The Brew Kettle tonight to sample some more 🙂

I will forever remember "first morning dog urine" as a color description although I will try hard not to...

I'll have to track this one down to drink while I cheer on the Cavs, too. I usually like IPAs with a little more bite than session IPAs have, but you're absolutely right about session IPAs being a good lunchtime beer! (It's also a good grading papers beer if I want to be able to have more than one while I grade!)
