Do you ever head into the weekend with a list of all the things that you want to carry out?
It could be a mental list or a list that is actually written down on paper.
I prefer mental lists.
That way there’s no record of it except in my head and it can easily get erased in there.
My mental list this weekend consisted of giving both the boys a bath and weeding my garden.
Both had to be done on Saturday and not Sunday because Sunday it was going to be in 90’s.
It was supposed to be done in that order but since I got sucked into watching 2 movies and taking a nap after I woke up on Saturday I hit the garden first.
And then I was done.
I was done for the day.
I kept telling myself. “You have to wash the dogs. You have to.”
And then I would talk myself out it.
“What’s another week? They don’t smell. There’s not that much debris in their coats. It’s too hot.”
I’ll admit that I was pretty convincing to myself.
So I’m a weekend failure this Monday.
If you failed this weekend, you’re not alone.
We’ll get ‘um next weekend.
Wait. No we won’t, that’s 4th of July weekend.
We’ll get ‘um the weekend after that.
p.s. I was not a failure at drinking wine and twisted teas this weekend. THAT I excelled at.

The best part of being retired is that you have the whole week to do the things that used to have to wait for the weekend. And, if they don't get done one day, they can usually wait another day - or week. ?

It sounds to me like you have your priorities in order so nothing to get concerned about.

Yes I always have list to get done for the weekend. The problem is that is not the list John has in his head to get done. Obviously we don't compare notes ahead of time because we wind up not finishing any list. It's always weekend fail...
