Leroy’s a jumper.
He’s always been a jumper for as long back as I can remember.
It’s an extremely bad habit that we tried to break as soon as it started.
He use to try and jump on just about anyone that lived in our house or came into it.
At first it was mostly me and kids.
We took it seriously because little kids were often in our house.
I remember one day my little nephew walked in the house and said “Aunt Jen, don’t let him jump on me again.”
“I promise. He won’t ever jump on you again.” I said.
Leroy liked to play with the little kids. He wanted to join in on the fun and when they were excited, he was excited. One day my nieces and nephews were over and they were running around the house like little kids do and Leroy jumped on the last kid in the running line and took him down. My nephew never forgot that and neither did I. Luckily he wasn’t injured, just a little dazed and confused.
After that we really took Leroy’s jumping seriously and after a lot of work and training, it was controlled.
Well, it was controlled to an extent.
He still likes to jump on me from time to time.
It’s in a playful nature but he’s a sneaky jumper now.
He tries to take me out from behind.
He seems to go in spurts with it and this weekend he tried to take me out twice.
The one time I was sitting on the floor giving Sherman a belly rub and all of sudden I caught a brown blur coming at me.
And then I was laying flat on my back on the ground with Leroy staring down at me.
The other time I was trying to hook up our new computer and I was kneeling on the ground over the computer.
The next thing I knew I was laying face first down on the computer and Leroy was on my back.
I’m sure it was a sight to see and I guarantee Leroy was laughing his butt off at me.
He’s lucky I didn’t crush the computer to death.
Do you have a jumper at home?
