I Wish The Rainbow Bridge Could Be A Winter Wonderland Just For Today

newfoundland dog celebrates birthday

Today is Sherman’s 13th birthday and boy oh boy how I wanted him to be here to celebrate this monumental day.

I did all I could in power to get him to this day but his body just wasn’t going to have it.

I do find comfort in knowing that we had 12 1/2 blessed years with him but I miss him so much and I wishthat he was here today to celebrate his life with us.

With the recent early snowfall and cold blast that we had, it would have been the perfect day for him.

Sherman loved the snow more than anything and it was the only thing that kept him from my side.

If there was snow on the ground Sherman was out laying in it whether I was there or not.

He loved his winters and that’s why I have a special request for today.

I know that pictures of the Rainbow Bridge show it as a beautiful sunny day with an amazing colorful rainbow but I was wondering if it could be transformed into a beautiful winter wonderland just for today.

I picture it in my mind like a scene out of Frosty the Snowman but minus the talking and walking snowman because that would give Sherman anxiety.

The whole land would be blanketed in a beautiful coating of fresh snow and the famous bridge would be glistening with white powder.

The birds and squirrels would be chirping while decorating the trees.

Little foxes would be ice skating on the river that flows under the bridge and there would be a snow cone cart handing out paper cups filled with fresh, crunchy snow.

And maybe, just maybe some of the beautiful angels of young children that have joined the heavens could cross over the bridge and sled ride and have snowball fights and then snuggle up to Sherman to get warm.

Of course, the beautiful rainbow would be there too and it would be glistening with fresh snowflakes.

Happy Birthday in heaven Sherman. You are in my heart today and every day.

Aww, sweet Sherman. I remember when you posted pictures of him and Leroy in the snow back in 2018 saying "What if this is THE last snow?" That post really hit my heart because I still had my senior dog at the time and I knew to appreciate every day with him. All our dogs are so special.

Yeah. I thought that a lot and I'm so glad that he did have a few good snows to enjoy last year. I really missed him with this first snow, he loved it so much.
