2023 Newfoundland Dog Christmas Tree Pull List

Welcome to our 7th annual Newfoundland Dog Christmas Tree Pull List!

Just an FYI that this list isn’t complete yet but since many of the hauls are taking place right after Thanksgiving, I wanted to get this up a few weeks before the events so that you have time to plan.

If you want to check out last year’s list, you can view that HERE.

If you’re looking for a festive way to kick off the holiday season you might want to check out your local Christmas tree farm and see what type of fun events kick off at the end of November.

2023 Newfoundland Dog Christmas Tree Haul

There’s a handful of Christmas tree farms across the country that will proudly be hosting events that include dogs, specifically Newfoundlands, who have volunteered their time to help haul your Christmas tree!

This is a great chance for you to get out and support your fellow Newfies, and if you’ve been looking to get a Newfoundland, this is a great way to see the breed in action and talk to many educated people who can help answer any questions that you might have.

And if you’re new here, Newfies are working dogs that are best known for their tremendous lifesaving skills in the water and on land.

Newfies use their sound structure, strength and working drive to haul carts, wagons and yes, Christmas trees!

Every year since as far back as I can remember, around the holidays Newfies and their owners will gather at select Christmas tree farms across the country and haul Christmas trees.

They do this to brighten up your holiday and to raise money for Newfies that are in need.

Over the years, this fun tradition has grown and each year more events are added.

Here’s a short list of some of the Christmas tree pull events that I’ve found going on in November and December in California, Connecticut, Georgia, Indiana, Illinois, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Washington, Wisconsin and Vermont.

The first events of the season take place BEFORE Thanksgiving this year so be sure to check the dates and times.

If you have any questions, it’s best to reach out to the Newfoundland Regional Club that is hosting the event.

Please keep in mind that this list is not final yet because some tree farms haven’t opened yet for the holiday season.

Also, some events in the past have been cancelled due to weather so always make sure to check the event listing BEFORE heading out.

These Newfies are working hard for other Newfies!

Also, every year that we post about these events we get a lot of people asking about how to get a Newfie involved in carting.

We highly recommend contacting your regional Newfoundland group which can further assist you with the training and equipment needed.

Newfie Christmas Tree Designs

A few of the designs in this list are available for purchase on Amazon.

There’s hoodies, long sleever shirts, T-shirts, crew sweatshirts, tote bags and pillows.

These are print on demand designs and they are printed and shipped through Amazon.

As an Amazon associate, I do earn a small commision if you purchase one but there is no extra cost to you and I don’t make much because I wanted to keep these at an affordable price for you!

Most of the designs that are listed below are available with black Newfies, brown Newfies or Landseers.

This is what the design looks like on a grey hoodie

Dear Jen,

I really enjoyed this newsletter. I also like your website "My Brown". My husband, Phil, has talked about wanting a Newfie for years. He came into a nice inheritance from his parents and we got a 1974 used Eagle Trawler (he talked about that also for our many years together next year will be #50). We started out sailing first with a 25 ft. then 32.5ft. Catalina. He talked about getting a Newfie with the last one. He had some neck surgery done and we gave up sailing. He soon started talking about a trawler so after his mother passed this year, he started looking and it wasn't too long after that, he started also looking for Newfie puppies. The weekend after we bought our boat he found two breeders both in the Bethlehem and Pottstown area of Pennsylvania. They are both about two hour drives from Red Lion, PA (in York County, PA) where we live. He saw our " Nanna's" sweet face along with her brother's on the website and showed them to me. We both really fell in love with their "Pink" because of her collar color. He called Rob and we were on our way the next day. We were totally bowled over by her. Rob said after we called another lady called and was adopting her brother the next day. Nanna is now five months old and other than puppy habits to be broken, she's a real sweetheart. She likes to try and get our Yorkie, Digby's, harness and he isn't having it, but she never tries to hurt him. She also wants to play with the cats. Most ignore her but if she does bother them, she seems to really just want to play. We just love her to the moon and back! She's very much like her momma. I don't think we could love her anymore than we do because of her sweet personality. She's getting bigger now. Nanna is brown with white markings and has either really darker brown spots on her legs (no where else) and the brown she sports is getting very dark, like a dark chocolate. Do they change colors? It doesn't matter to us. We love her so much! She also alerts Phil to go outside and she started that herself! She's getting better all the time even though we are working on improvement. I sat in the back of the Land Rover on the way home and she left me hold her precious little noggin close to my heart and was as good as gold. There are many activities we want to look into for Nanna but she makes a terrific boat dog if that's what her idea of fun will be.
