Time Was On My Side

Time is something I lack. There is never enough time in a day to get everything done that should be getting done.

There’s never enough time to do what I want.

The worst thing is that there is never enough time to go around. I always feel like someone is getting shafted. Whether it be the dogs who get shafted because the day ended way to quick and the walk that was suppose to happen never did, or one of the kids get shafted because the extra 1/2 hour that I thought I had to play catch outside has come and gone.

To make matter worse, I am not the best at time management, which is a big problem, when you need more of it.

I get sidetracked……….. a lot.

However, the other day, I somehow managed my time very well.

I was a woman on a mission and nothing was going to sidetrack me.

There was a lot that needed to fit into one day and damn it, I was going to make it happen and no one was going to shafted!

Here is how the day went down:

I worked until 12:30, then I ran to check out a lead I had on a guinea pig. Came home, ate some lunch, took a 10 minute power nap, did some laundry, brushed the dogs, watered the flowers, and did some blogging.

Then the kids came home from school and we did homework, I made them dinner and off to the baseball field we went because they both had baseball games.

I spent the next 3 hours watching baseball but I got home just in time to take the dogs for a nice long walk before night fell.

Then I read a few chapters in a book that has been sitting on my kitchen table for over a month, just begging to be read.

It all came together so nicely. Time was on my side this day, and while I forgot to eat dinner myself, I went to bed feeling exhausted but fulfilled.

Mission accomplished.

I wish time was on my side everyday, all day.

I could conquer the world.

O.k. I’m done tooting my own horn.

Toot-toot.

O.k. now I’m really done.

How about you? Is time ever on your side, or are you left asking for more hours in the day?

I would like to offer my sincere congrats and tell you how very impressed I am by pretty much all working people with more than one dog or a dog and human offspring or multiple dogs and human offspring. For the life of me, I cannot fathom how I would be able to fit in even one more commitment or obligation--like another dog or a child. It's mind boggling. I must be doing it wrong! lol

Sounds like you had a miracle day! Time is never on my side... even as a currently unemployed person, it's just not on my side.

Ha ha ha! Oh, I always need more time on my side! I'm thinking if I had just four more hours every day, I would be all set!

2 or 4 hours would be great, or like Benny and Lily said: 5,000 hours:)
