It was HOT, like at least 100 degrees in a building that was NOT air conditioned.
The Newfs showed LATE again.
We lost to a 6-9 month puppy dog. Good for the puppy dog. Sucked for us.
Leroy was literally feeling the heat and wanted no part in running around the ring and I didn’t blame him.
After the show we had a quick team meeting between myself, Leroy and our handler. We all decided that we were not going to show on Sunday because there was only 1 point up for grabs and it just wasn’t worth the 2 hour drive, the $80 in gas, the handling fee, and Leroy dealing with the heat.
Bummer.
So for now we stand at 10 points. We are taking a break to get Leroy acclimated to the heat and we will be picking up the summer show circuit in mid July.
Until then I have this certain phrase going through my head. The phrase that I preach to the kids all the time when they play sports.

It's probably especially tough on Leroy due to his coat. It's bad enough for us...and our hair is actually quite a bit shorter!! That's tough...why can't these show organizers learn that they should have A/C in all the rings!! xoxo Chloe and LadyBug

The heat sounds like a tough challenge. It seems ridiculous that they would not find a venue with air conditioning.

It sounds like you guys need to keep it fun & so you're making the right choice, we think, to acclimate him and then move on. Why would they have a show like this somewhere without air conditioning?Nubbin wiggles,Oskar

Wish we were feeling the heat here. It's probably only very low 70's.Sorry the show didn't go as planned. I hope the next one goes better.
