The calendar says that summer officially begins on June 21st but Bobby and Gracie’s last day of school was Thursday so that’s when summer starts around here.
I always love having the kids home for the summer because I get to see their adorable faces so much more than I do when they’re in school.
Fine.
Maybe I’m stretching the truth there a little bit.
There’s perks to having the kids home and there’s some disadvantages.
Disadvantages include them eating me out of the house, fighting over computer time with Gracie and being Bobby’s chauffeur. He’s 13. He has a social life now..
Advantages include being able to sleep in because I don’t have to get anybody off to school, chore sharing and driving Bobby absolutely nuts. 🙂 Obviously, I get an A+ in that class.
One day into summer vacation and we’re already hitting some of disadvantages because I was low on snacks and the kids found my secret stash of popcorn that I keep on hand for Leroy and they ate it all.

Uh-oh, someone better get some more popcorn pronto! I didn't have children, so don't know what it's like...but I think summer sounds better (plus it's shorter, so just when you're getting burnt out, back to school they'll go!).

Since I don't have any kids, I love school being out because it means the daily commute really eases up! Every week at least some of the folks are out on vacation. Yay! :-)
