Northern Ohio Newfapalooza 2018

The time has finally come for a Newfapalooza to happen in northern Ohio!

I’ve been hoping for this is to happen for some time now and with Ralphie and the Boss traveling through Ohio this week, it’s a perfect time!

Here’s all you need to know about the first ever Northern Ohio Newfapalooza:

When:

Saturday, September 15th at 12:00 p.m.

Where:

Huntington Beach. 28649 Lake Road. Bay Village, Ohio 44140

Things You Should Know About The Location:

The whole beach is not dog-friendly but the dog-friendly part is clearly marked with signs.

There are several flights of metal stairs that lead down to the beach (I think 8 flights). The stairs are wide and they have a nice landing after each flight but if you have a senior dog or a dog that doesn’t like stairs, it might be a problem.

There is a handicapped access area just east of the regular entrance that leads right out to the beach and there are no steps. You can not park there if you’re not handicapped but you can do a quick drop off. This is what I plan on doing with Leroy because I don’t he’ll be able to handle the steps.

There are restrooms and a concession stand but I’m not sure if the concession stand will be open. Overflow parking is across the street.

Leroy and I visited Huntington Beach last year and it’s a great spot and wonderful opportunity so bring your camera!

Also, make sure to bring a water bowl, water, towels, and some snacks!

Anyone is welcome! If you don’t have a Newf but have another dog you would like to bring, do it! If you don’t have a dog but want to see a whole bunch of Newfies on the beach, please come!

The weather right now is saying that it will be around 82 degrees and partly sunny but weather forecasters mentioned today that Hurricane Florence may bring some rain towards the end of the week so keep an eye on the weather and adjust accordingly. I don’t think we’ll have to cancel but it might be a little wet.

Also, just so there’s no confusion, there is another Newfapalooza planned in Ohio for September 23rd. This event is in Central Ohio and they do have an event page set up on Facebook if you’re interested in going!
