I’m sure most of you have heard the news by now and if you haven’t, brace yourself.

Hello Kitty is NOT a cat.

She’s a little girl.

I know, right?

What the hell is up with that?

According to her creators, a Japanese company called Sanrio, she’s a girl.

“Hello Kitty is not a cat. She’s a cartoon character. She is a little girl. She is a friend. But she is not a cat. She’s never depicted on all fours. She walks and sits like a two-legged creature. She does have a pet cat of her own, however, and it’s called Charmmy Kitty.”

I’ve been playing Hello Kitty Bingo for several years now and I’m not buying the whole Hello Kitty is not really a cat, she’s a girl, rumor. If she’s a girl than what about the other characters on my Hello Kitty Bingo board? Is the bunny not a bunny?

I can”t play this game again until I know the truth.

I mean what little girl has whiskers and little half oval ears on top of her head? And a tail?

None that I know. Do you know any?

Sure I know she walks on 2 legs verses 4 legs and she bakes cookies and sits in chairs.

So does Snoopy, except he types on a typewriter instead of baking cookies, but he’s still a Beagle dog.

Or is he?

Is he really a Boston Terrier that only appears to be a Beagle?

I don’t know anymore.

I just don’t know.

Why do people have to mess with my life like this?
